TESTIMONIALS

Debbie and Ginger (Kentucky) Many thanks to a special lady, Glenda, a much loved Aunt & Uncle, and wonderful neighbors for making my passion alive and well! Around 7:45, I was out walking & talking to the dogs when all of a sudden this beautiful blue–eyed mare comes running to the fence letting me know that it was her breakfast time and very loudly at that. Forty minutes later we are on our way for a two hour ride. Not only is she as smooth as silk with a wonderful short lope, she has a very gentle kind soul and a love for people! We did it all, mud, creeks, hills, you name it. Can’t hardly wait for our next ride in the morning. There was only one bad thing I can say about our first ride, it felt like I went through a thousand massive spider webs! LOL

Emma (AL) Hi Glenda, Want to let you know Luke is doing GREAT ! Emma loves that horse and is riding several days a week , would ride more if I had more time

Roberta (AL) I was so lucky to come across Glenda’s website while looking for a gaited horse. I am very particular about size, temperament, gait, personality, etc. The BIG question is.. “Can a little horse from Hardin, Kentucky make it in the BIG scary city of Los Angeles, California? I saw Domino’s picture and watched his video and really liked this little horse. After spending many hours of speaking with Glenda on the phone and via email, I decided to take a chance and bring him out here. He is everything and more that Glenda said he would be. It didn’t take any time at all for him to know that I am his new best friend. I have to say that Glenda has the patience of a saint, and will really do her best to tell you all about the horses she has and will find the right fit for you. Was I scared to try this over the internet? Of course– who wouldn’t be? But Glenda puts your mind at ease and you can trust what she says. After making my decision, I called her on Sunday and by Thursday at Noon my Domino was delivered. He is even more beautiful in person. I am one lucky gal to have this horse and everyone will be envious of his glide ride! I have ridden him around the L.A. Equestrian Center 4 times within one week of delivery. This is a very difficult place for horses that have never been here, since there is so much going on all the time. Domino handles it all very well and I am looking forward to my rides in Griffith Park with him. Photos and more updates to follow, but I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Glenda for making my dream come true. Roberta, Glendale, CA

Libby & Brett (AL) Dear Glenda, It has been too long, we hope this finds you well and that business is booming! we have been so busy and we had our grandson come to stay at short notice. however between all this and the huge snow storms we have had we have been riding regularly. we are surrounded by dirt roads and open range so we are lucky that we can ride for miles in the winter. We are in love with Jack (Jap) and Sky ( Storm) and we love our rides.Thankyou for all your help, it all sorted itself finally and we are so happy.I have attached 2 photos and will write the testimonial below. BTW did you ever get the flag up? Brett and I live in Colorado and are surrounded by the most beautiful scenery and mountains, all calling us to explore them by horseback !! Because of Bretts back surgery we were looking for gaited horses. We started investigating and after looking and finding many ranches that upon checking were all on Ripoff.com we began to get concerned. We found G&G flatshod farm and not only were we impressed with the web site, we FOUND ONLY good things said about them. We then contacted Glenda and from that point forward Glenda went beyond to help us, she was wonderful and so were her horses!! Jack and Sky were everything we could of hoped for, Jack has a wonderful smooth running walk and Brett glides with NO uncomfortable back pain, they are best buddies! Sky and I have bonded so quickly and she is so wonderful to ride, I never want to get off!! So to anyone looking for a caring professional to find them a perfect trail companion seek out Glenda and her team because they are helpful, honest and very caring and we encourage you to put yourself in their capable hands. Libby & Brett in Pagosa Springs, Colorado

BethWe took Whiskey out for his first ride today. He was a champ! He walked along looking around at everything but handled the traffic without a flinch and was just a good, good boy.?? My daughter and I rode first, me on Whiskey and she on her Arab gelding. When we got back, after about an hour, Dave was home from work and I got on my daughter’s horse and Dave hopped on Whiskey. He marched back off down the road without a bit of fuss, despite the reluctance of my daughter’s horse to set out again. He is settling into the routine here very nicely. He doesn’t like being sprayed with fly spray, so we are working on that (because goodness knows he needs it here) but that is a minor thing. We are very happy with him. Beth

Debbie and Dale in OhioHi Trisha & Glenda, Just a note to say that we will always be indebted for your help in finding Tonto (now Toby). After two previous miserable failures where we were not told the truth about the horses we bought, we thought we would nor could we trust anyone with a horse to sale. Thanks the stars that Trisha told us about Glenda’s horse farm. What a breath of fresh air to have met someone like Glenda. Words cannot describe how open and honest of a person she is, we felt very comfortable dealing with her. If it wasn’t for Trisha, it is unlikely that we would have even met Glenda and seen her wonderful horse farm. So when we got Tonto here, we had already decided to name him, Toby as he is very much like Trisha’s Toby in Texas. Ravi, our quarter horse, and Toby are the best of buddies – you take one somewhere and the other lets you know that he want to stay with him. I know that we will spend many of happy hour trail riding together with our two horses. Thanks again. Dale & Debbie

Karin and Snip (Michigan) Glenda, I don t know how to post this in your testimonial page so you are getting an email. Thank you so much for Snip! Everything you said about him in right on. He is the kindest horse I have ever had. He leaves his grazing to get scratched and loved on. Everything you said to do was perfect when he came up to us (800 Miles) to help the transition easier on Snip and myself. I followed your suggestions and he is coming along just like you said. Being as timid as I am, I started doubting my decision to buy a 4 year old when I finally made my decision, but we are learning together with your wonderful foundation. His personality and sweetness carries us a long way. After my horrid buying experience / scam, I was really leary, but something told me, via our phone conversations, to have faith in you and your horses. I spread the name of your farm every chance I get. If I ever had to get another horse, I would only get one from your farm. Snip and I will be retiring from riding at the same time…years from now. Thank you for your knowledge, integrity and patience. The saddle is perfect and my friend Laurie has looked far and wide for one to fit her horse. She is once again riding because of your saddles. Karin G~Michigan

Paula (Tennessee) Hi Glenda, I have intended to e–mail you sooner, but this wild weather has kept us very busy and I am sure it has been the same for you all. I know you were busy with the lady from Nashville on the Saturday we dropped by and ended up buying Scooby (which I now call him). Terry and I missed talking/visiting with you but Gerald kept us entertained (LOL). I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with Scooby, tho I have not gotten to ride him much because of work/weather. He is gentle and very very smart. .. a quick learner. … and he seems to want to please. He also has an awesome gait with plenty of speed……and can even stay up with Smokey….unless Terry turns Smokey’s turbo’s on…hahaha…He and Smokey are buds and it was love at first sight. As most young horses, he just needs wet blankets and ‘seasoning’. I am anxious to ride him @ LBL and test him out there. …which I am sure he will do great. Maybe one of these days we will get to ride together @ LBL. So I just wanted to let you know what a good horse Scoob is and a big thank you to Gerald for letting us have the freedom to ride around your farm while we were there and thanks as always for your hospitality . If we can help you all with anything or you need a good reference we will be glad to help. Happy trails, Terry & Paula Harris Dyersburg, TN

Shelia (Illinois) I just thought I’d drop you a line and say “thank–you” again for selling Secret to me. I have had her for about a year now and her and I completed our first “solo” ride for about 3 hours in the woods along the Kankakee River and she was wonderfully confident! It was about 90 out yesterday, and I wanted to get going early in the morning, but did not get out until afternoon – that’s why I choose to ride along the river because it’s wooded and much cooler. She did not miss a beat – and you know that I usually only ride my gelding Henry alone – but I have gotten to know Secret very well and I figured I’d take her out alone and see what she can do – and she impressed me totally and took the best care of me on our ride! Along the river we flush out turkey, deer, very large hawks, snakes, and I even came across a good sized turtle – she didn’t mind any of it! Now I can tell you that in all my years of owning horses (almost 20) I have finally got two horses that I can ride together, in a group, or totally alone and feel safe in the saddle – which is very important to me as I’m a 56 year old (saying that now because in a few more days I’ll have to add another year to that) woman who is only an average rider. Everyone that knows me says I’m riding now more than I ever have and that is because I have two wonderful safe horses to ride! THANKS TO YOU & GERALD!!!

Sandy (New York) Good Morning Glenda and Gerald: We got back last night from a 5–day camping trip. I wanted to let you know that Stuntman did extremely well. My granddaughter, Katie, rode him. He went up hill, down hill, over the bridges, and through the water. He stood very good in the straight stall, too. Bill reset his shoes a few days before we left, and Bill set he was very impressed with how well he stood. He is an extremely nice colt and we all love him. By the way, I rode Doc all 5 days, and he, too, was very, very good. My back is better, and I could get a good seat. He is a gaiting fool when you open him up. He is jet black with his winter coat coming in and looks like a million dollars. We are very pleased with both these horses we purchased from you. Thanks again. You have wonderful horses, and, if we, in the future need another, we certainly will purchase from you folks again. Best wishes and health to you and your staff. Sandy and Bill

Gerry (North Carolina) Hi Glenda, Just wanted to let you know that the saddle is wonderful! We got a bit sidetracked –– Both of us caught awful colds, along with almost everyone else around here. Several too–cold days, then lovely summerlike days, then rain and high winds, then cold again. Fortunately our horses have fared OK through the extremes, better than we did. The saddle fits Peg’s mare Julip very well and she says it is the best saddle she ever has ridden on –– They have gone on two short trail rides with it already. I’ve tried the saddle plus the bridle on Jazzy, and as I knew it would be, it is perfect for her and for me. The bridle is gorgeous on Jazzy. I think we will need to get saddle #2 when I get to riding seriously (especially when we will some day have both horses out on the trails together –– Once you’ve tried the new saddle, nothing else we have feels as good). I’m still doing just a little on Jazzy, and a lot from the ground. She is one sharp girl and it tickles me when she picks up on what I want so quickly, even doing goofy things like walking to the pasture together side by side, and playing a game of whoa when I whoa. When she sees me bring out her grooming bucket she heads straight to the paddock fence where I always groom her, no halter, no asking, and happily stands there the whole time no matter what else is around her. She is so much fun. Hope all is well with you.

Patsy, Angel and Misty (Illinois) Glenda and Gerald, Just wanted to give you an update on Angel. She is doing great and all the horses are getting along fine. They do have seperate mud areas and stalls at night though. When I first put Misty and Angel together, Misty headed at Angel squealed at her then started eating grass. I guess she was telling her who was going to be boss. Angel is great with the goats after one day and my neighbors chickens have been coming to see her and she is fine with them also. She seems to be a really sweet girl. She even comes to me better than Misty.

April and Bailey (Arizona) Hi Glenda, Just wanted to let you know that Bailey has totally settled in and is doing well. He gives the greatest hugs! I love him so much and now want another one! For my husband, you know ;o) , lol. I was looking at your videos and am VERY impressed with Rocky. Of course, I’ll need to teach more classes to make the extra $, but if he is still available over the next few months – he’s mine! However, if you sell him, I know that you will have another one that will perfectly meet my needs!! Right now, at my house, if it’s not nailed down, I’m selling it ! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and am looking forward to meeting my next partner! April

Tavi (New Mexico) I loved the saddle! It was a perfect fit for me and Roxie and she seemed as relieved as I was not to have that old Wintec put on her anymore. I am going to look at the bridles, because now that the saddle and pad are spiffy, my old headstall looks like hell. Kinda like cleaning one room of the house. I was so pleased that the saddle did not slip when I went to get off ( the Wintec always did, even when I had it tight) and I felt secure in it the whole ride. I will look at your headstalls and let you know. Tavi

Juli (New Mexico) Glenda I just wanted to write and tell you how happy I am with these two boys! I know it wasn’t easy to understand my position but I can tell you it was well worth the effort and I will tell everyone how grateful we are to have these two. They ride well together and separately just what we ordered! We are calling “rocky” Johnny walker black because of how smooth he is lol again thank you Juli.

Gerry and Jazz (North Carolina) Hi Glenda, Update in a nutshell: I love Jazzy. Peg loves Jazzy. Julip and Festi love Jazzy. In fact, everyone who meets Jazzy loves her. As she gets more accustomed to us and our setup, her warm gentle and funny nature comes out more and more. She has a very quiet way of relating to me, and I am noticing that if I’m in the paddock with her and the other horses, she always (always!) checks to see where I am if the horses start moving about, before she does something like back up or bump poor old Festi from his hay. (He always has another pile to move to, of course.) She is very, very attentive to her people. I’m still doing mostly ground work, but Peg also is riding Jazzy at a walk plus slow gaiting, to keep her fit and tuned in. I’ll have to watch out, since Peg is getting VERY fond of her, too! I love just hanging out with her in the pasture (especially as a beautiful fall has arrived here), but also I am letting her know she can trust me AND that I want her to listen to me –– sorry, no grass treats with the bit in, etc. If Peg is going to ride her, I still groom her and tack her up and lead her through the pasture as far as our homemade round pen before Peg takes her out further, and I untack her as well. More and more, the nasty memories of that awful accident are getting replaced by seeing her soft face, and imagining myself out on our trails together, SOON! We went with some friends to the North Carolina Walking Horse Championship show this past week, but wow was that a disappointment. In most of the classes the horses had the high front pads and hoof chains, and looked like a different species from the good old pleasure/trail horse. Not a stout–made horse among them, or a smile on the faces of any of the riders, either. Made me grateful for people like you.

Sandy and Bill (New York) Good Morning Glenda and Gerald: We got back last night from a 5–day camping trip. I wanted to let you know that Stuntman did extremely well. My granddaughter, Katie, rode him. He went up hill, down hill, over the bridges, and through the water. He stood very good in the straight stall, too. Penny (Michigan) Hi Glenda!!! I just wanted to let you know I took your advice on dealing with Hawkeye and we went this last weekend on our first weekend camping trip and I just wanted to let you know that Hawkeye was a perfect angel and gave me 2 of the best trail rides I have ever had!! All my friends that laughed at me before when I told them I had bought him sight unseen were not laughing anymore. I had people on the trail complimenting me on how beautiful he is and how well behaved he was. We rode on Saturday for about 4 hours and other than he got tired at the end he never refused anything I asked him,as a matter of fact I was riding in a group of 5 horse and riders, and they decided to canter and Hawkeye didn’t start out very good(he was very rough) and I just reined him back to a rack and they ran up a hill and waited as I gaited around the corner and up the hill. They couldn’t believe that he didn’t freak out at all and how he just scooted along so smooth and calm. I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with him and I am thankful to you for making it all happen and for picking me up when I was ready to hang it all up. I am singing your praises to anyone who will listen!!! Thanks again for EVERYTHING!!!! Penny P.S. I also love my saddle!! I got many compliments on my tack too)

Jackie (Minnesota) Glenda, I just wanted you to know that Breezy is settling in just fine. They let me bring her into the barn/stall yesterday and this morning she was turned out in the mare pasture. She comes right up to me when I go to catch her and there are no nicks or anything from the pasture. Today we rode with 2 others for a good 2 hours and she went like a dream! She fit right into the group, went everywhere I asked her (thru water, thru the woods, along a busy road, across a narrow bridge), and shied just a little when a rabbit jumped out of the grass. We timed it almost right but did get wet when it decided to rain really hard. The other person cantered to the barn but I kept Breezy at a walk which she did very willingly. Everybody in the barn loves her so she is getting lots of attention. Thanks so much for steering me in her direction. I will stay in touch and let you know how we progress. Jackie

WarnerHi Glenda, Happy Independance Day of our great nation! God Bless America! May new saddle works great! My young 5 year old seems good with it. We are both comfortable! The saddle cushioned me in several rough moments, (sudden turns and transitions into cantor), and I am looking forward to many comfortable rides with it. I know you have many customers so here are some photos of Pam and myself. You sold us “Romeo”, Pams, Kentucky mountain, who was (5) at the end of 2007. My mare has Rocky Mountain blood in her. She is full of fire and is smart! Not a mean bone in her body! Thanks for getting me the saddle so quickly! Warner

Sheila and Secret (Illinois) OMG Glenda (as my kids would say) – I have never gotten two horses together in less than 7 days before! I gave her a bath – she was great I put her in her stall – she was great I gave Henry a bath – he’s his usual I put Henry out on the pasture to dry off – usual She began to whinny and call and circle around in her stall – so – I put her halter on – and turned her out on the pasture with Henry – It was really nice to watch – she wandered around grazing and Henry was loping circles around her hoping and skipping all proud as if to say – I’VE GOT A GIRL! Well – that was about 2 this afternoon and it’s almost 8 now – they are both eating out of the feeder in the paddock as if they’ve known one another forever – no issues to report at all. If this is the way it continues to go – I am going to be very – very happy. She has been a pleasure already – and I’ve only had her for a day! She’s everything you told me she’d be – Thank you! I’ll update you again – just thought you’d get a kick out of me – I was so not a believer in a mare – I’m not even sure you know just how stubborn I can be – so – I can learn new things – even at 56! Sheila

Lynn and Buck (Arizona) Hi Glenda, Here’s a recent pic of my best boy in the springtime AZ desert. I bought Buck from you almost 6 years ago so this is a long overdue update. Thanks to your matchmaking skills, he was just what I needed to improve my riding skills and boost my confidence. We ride in some very rough, rocky and mountainous terrain here, but I know that my horse is very surefooted and can safely negotiate his way up and down most any trail. Plus his gaits are very comfortable, he has tons of stamina and can go all day! I wouldn’t trade him for anything. We’re looking forward to adding a new SSH from G&G to our home in a couple of weeks.

Carol and Skip (Oregon) Glenda, (This is truly from the heart. Carol I rode Skip yesterday for the first time; he did well. My husband rode him last Friday and thinks we got a good one. I want you to know what a joyful, painless experience this has been for me. I called you with a list of requirements in December: 14.3 aged gelding, good disposition, temperament of 3, good bone and substance, without a big shy AND that stands still for me to get on. That’s a lot of wishing! (I’m soon to be 66 and just took a very bad spill off of my good, but hyper horse in October, when he spooked really badly.) After seeing Skip’s video, I was pretty sure that he would be the right horse for me. You agreed and after a few days of thought, I decided to buy him. My two friends that own gaited horses were really concerned about me buying a horse over the internet, sight unseen, so to speak and 2200 miles away. I watched his video about fifty times, just to make sure I really liked what I saw. The worst part was waiting for Cowboy Express to pick Skip up for his long haul, after the winter storms passed. At the end of his 2200 mile, almost four day trip with Steve, he stepped right into our trailer for another two hour ride. What a trooper. We’ve owned horses for many, many years and I don’t believe we’ve had one with any better disposition than Skip’s. He’s a character too, LOVES to be messed with! I think he will be my last saddle horse; happily. He’s going to have a good home here with our other five geldings. He’s even getting used to our four, very busy Border Collies running behind his feet when we ride. Tonight, when I called for the horses, to put them in for the night, Skip was the first one to start the run in from pasture. This is his fourteenth day living here. This is the first gaited horse I’ve owned and I know I’m gonna like it! If you ever have a customer that would like to talk to me about my neat experience buying Skip, please feel free to give him or her our telephone number. Every single thing we discussed about this horse has turned out to be exactly as you told me in our conversations. Thanks for all of your help and for being such an honest professional. Best Wishes,

Claude, Donna, Beamer and Toby (Maryland) Hi Glenda and Gerald: I can’t tell you how happy Claude and I are that we made the decision to purchase our two horses from you guys. It was a 13 hour drive for us from Maryland to your farm in Kentucky, but was worth every mile. You made us both feel so welcome and you could not have been friendlier. We got a hotel room for the night and came back bright and early the next morning. You told me you would have some horses in the barn you felt would be a good match for me and to feel free to check them out. I walked through your barn and that is where I met Beamer, my Kentucky Mountain horse. He actually licked me and I instantly knew he was the one for me. Beamer is everything you stated and more. He is the sweetest horse I have ever known. He even goes to the neighbor’s fence for treats. No problem catching him, he catches me. The trail rides we take could not be more pleasurable. We have come upon deer and he just stops and looks, but never spooks. The ride is just like you said, A GLIDE RIDE. We have a great relationship and he is truly my best buddy. I couldn’t be happier. When we visited my husband owned a quarter horse and never gave it a thought to go gaited. He was very impressed with the horses you had and loved the ride we all took through the woods. It was not long after we got home with Beamer he realized that maybe a quarter horse was not so great after all. For one thing his horse could never keep up with Beamer and me on the trails, and who wants to bounce up and down in the saddle. We went to your website and he saw Toby, the Spotted Saddle horse. We watched the video and when he heard he neck reined it was all over. Never in a million years would we have ever thought about buying a horse without seeing or riding it. But, we knew you and Gerald were honest and stood behind what you sell, so it was not a hard decision. Since it was dead winter we decided to have Toby transported to our home in Maryland. The look on Claude’s face when he saw Toby come off that trailer was priceless. It only took a short time for him to know he had made the right choice. Toby is not only beautiful, he is another one that you don’t have to chase down, he catches you. Toby is very friendly, has great ground manners, and just wonderful on the trails. We have two great horses now and are having the time of our lives. For anyone reading this, you have to try the saddle that Glenda and Gerald sell (the Kentuckian). You will never be sorry you made the purchase. It is the most comfortable and beautiful saddle I have ever owned. I went all out and bought the breast strap, bridle, and pad and could not be happier. Also, if you are thinking about buying, you can’t go wrong buying the horse of your dreams from GG Flatshod farms!!

Colleen, Roy and boys! (Indiana) Hi Glenda, just a note to let you know how incredibly satisfied we are with the new saddle we purchased from you. I personally have never paid that much for a saddle before and I was scepticle. (I am a $400 saddle kind of girl) The first ride I thought well “its ok I guess”. The second ride I was like “ya know it is really comfortable” by the end of the month and lots of trails…..I wouldnt trade this saddle for anything. I LOVE THIS SADDLE!! It is hands down the most comfortable saddle I have ever rode in. Its light weight, superb quality, really nice to look at and I love the endurance cinching. I get so many compliments on it everytime I ride. I recently went to a saddle fitting expert in our area to fit my draft cross. She looked that saddle over pretty good and told me it was worth every penny! Yet once again you came through for us! You guys are the bomb! Roy, Bailey, Colleen & Big John

Joann and Copper (Oregon) Hi Glenda, Just wantwed to let you know how Copper and I are doing. Ever since Copper made it here to Oregon from Kentucky, I haven’t ceased to be amazed at him. I’ve never had such a wonderful horse. Totally beyond my expectations. He has never hesitated in anything I want him to do. Going down in canyons, up steep hills, through the brush, where you couldn’t see what was ahead. I got into a trailride with someone that does indurance riding. The gal I was riding with was way ahead of us because I was waiting up for another friend of mine whos horse was having a hard time. Copper didn’t fuss because we were so far out of sight of the other horses. He stood patiently while waited for my other friend. My 67 yr old body wasn’t ready for a ride like I was on but there was no turning back after having started. Copper took care of me. Copper is such a smooth ride and what a mover! He can leave most of the rest in the dust. Glenda, I know I hesitated buying Copper because of his Choc. Palamino color., and white socks. But I’m happy I believed you when you said he doesn’t really show the dirt. Living here in Oregon, in the winter, it is so hard to keep a palamino looking good. I have fallen so much in love him that now I wouldn’t care what color he is. He IS my buddy! I can hardly leave him. You were right when you said he will take care of me. He will be with me forever. Thanks for puting us together. I also bought a new harness for him and will hook him up this coming week. That was also a plus that I wasn’t expecting. Him being trained to pull a buggy. I know If I ever decide to buy another horse, we will contact you and Gerrald first. Your Farm and Business practices are first rate in my book. You followed through on everything you told me. Thanks again, Glenda. Joann Endicott The saddle is great we purchased from you. Sooo comfortable

Marlene and Classy (Michigan) Hi Glenda, just wanted to let you know that Classy is getting used to the routine around here and fitting in very well. He gets along well with my other gelding and is easy going with our mare. They all had baths yesterday due to the high temperture and he did very well. He has a nice way of following people around and is so easy to catch that I say he catches us. He waits at the gate for my husband to get home from work at midnight and enjoys getting a friendly rub. We have a common fence line with the neighbors and he gets along very well with their three horses too. The neighbors just love to come to the fence and give Classy apple treats and pet his silky soft coat. He is quite a sweet guy! He has been started on Ferrier’s Formula since he came and does not give any trouble eating the supplement mixed with his grain. We are so glad to have him ………… he does fit right in with the family. Thanks for raising such a nice guy. He is not afraid of anything around here …….. even comes up and puts his nose on the tractor when I am running it in the pasture. We have not had a ride yet but we will soon and I am sure he will not disappoint in this area either. Hope all is going well with you. I’m happy that you want to use my note in your website …….. people should know that you have high quality horses for sale and that you are such a pleasure to do business with. Thanks again, Marlene

Kathy and Jag (New York) Howdy Glenda Jag seems to have found his new home ! Absolutely, a wonderful addition and is working out just fine I wanted to say “THANK YOU” for all your efforts It was nice to do business with you

Terry, Paula and Joanne (Tennessee) Hi Glenda, I just wanted to drop a line and tell you how much we really enjoyed purchasing our (2) new horses from you. You and your staff were very courteous and made us feel very welcomed. The “set–up” you have at your farm is great. Being able to ride the horses around a nice soft track, than take them out through the woods on a trail with all kinds of obstacles is awesome. It really lets one see how the horse reacts and helps with the decision making in choosing the right horse. Terry, Joanna and I love our new horses, Smokey and Johnny’s Spotted Delight! They are settling in great at their new home and they both have brought us a lot of joy and pleasure. You can be sure we will recommend G& G Flatshod to anyone who is looking to buy a new horse. Thanks again for all you did for us and the great advice!! Maybe we will be able to trail ride together at LBL wrangler camp. Happy Trails J Terry and Paula Harris

Diane (Georgia) Glenda, After careful deliberation I ordered your saddle sight unseen. I did have the benefit of a friend who had visited your farm and rode in one and loved it. The pictures of your saddle on the site just don’t do it justice. It’s fantastic; wonderful design and build. The tooling, color and padding is very nice. The saddle holds you in just the right position, yet is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in. Thanks again for offering such a great product. I like the saddle pad as well. I really appreciate this saddle as in several years of horse ownership I’ve had a difficult time getting just the right fit for me and my gaited horse. I can see by this saddles design why it would fit a variety of horses, which can’t be said of many saddles.

Toby, Alice, Charmer and Pepper (Alabama) Dear Glenda & Gerald Just thought I would update you about Pepper and Charmer. We have had them home for 5 month now. These horses are everything you advertised and much more. I have had horses for the last 40 years and I am not a novice with horses. I have never owned better trail horses than Pepper and Charmer. I have put a lot of miles on Charmer and he has been Great!!! I now ride using only a rope halter. When cued, he is very light and responsive. I can lean forward and he speeds up or I can lean back and he slows down. He also neck reins. Alice, who has been afraid of horses, is riding on a regular basis and is gaining confidence every time we ride. I have had my grandsons on Pepper and I could not ask for a safer animal for children to be around. I have told my family that if you can sit up straight you can ride Pepper. I do not know how you find and train your trail horses but I believe that you are truly gifted when it comes to producing great trail horses. I am attaching some photo of our horses. Thank you so much for helping us find these horses! Sincerely, Alice and Toby Jernegan

Belinda and Tom Cruise (Tennessee) I also wanted to let you know that Cruise is doing well and I have finally ridden him a few times. I really am pleased with him. We took him to Woodbury, TN (nothing but hills and “hollers”) a couple of weeks ago and tried him out on some serious hills, rocks, creeks and logs on top of logs. He would step over the logs that he could and jump over the ones that were too tall for him, but he never hesitated with any of it. Just took it all in stride. I was pretty nervous about it all, but he seemed to have no problem with any of the obstacles. Wasn’t nervous or spooky at all. Even kept his cool after our gelding Ten Penny kicked him. I have no idea why he did that, he has never kicked before. Maybe Cruise was crowding him a little too close on a difficult area to manuver. Then my daughter took him off with a couple of strange horses(leaving his buddy Ten Penny behind) on some hill climbing and he did fine. My cousin that took us trail riding said Cruise seemed like a fine horse to him. He thinks he has the strength, stamina and willingness to make a good mountain pony. I have rode him for the last two weekends just near our place on a neighboring farm and he is doing fine. We even encountered some cattle today, and he was great. I wasn’t sure if the very nosey cows would startle him or make him nervous. They did not. If the cows started getting too close to us,(sometimes the younger ones would actually run toward us) I would turn Cruise into them and head toward them. The cows would turn and run off, then we would be on our way. Also, when he was eating the hay I had put down for him, I looked a few feet away and saw a good size black snake. Cruise gave it very little attention, just kept eating. Even when my daughter got to messing with it and got it to slithering around, Cruise just watched with mild interest as he chewed his hay. Heather figured it probably hangs around the barn and the horses are used to it. If it will keep the mice eat up, suites me. Cruise is really good natured and willing to work with me on what I want.

Rose and Phantom (Illinois) Hi Glenda, This is Rose Terwiske, I bought Phantom from you in the end of April. He is doing great. Gets along well with all the other horses. We took him to a show in September to see how he would do. He was great most of the time. He did not like to be in the arena with 50 other horses during warm–ups, but was great in the events. He got two 2nds and a 3rd. I have not had time to take him to any other shows but will start again in the spring. He does like to chew/play alot with anything that comes in contact with his mouth. Loves to have attention. Follows me around the pasture when we are there. He is doing great with our handicapped daughter. She loves him.

Lyn and Justice (California) Glenda, I bought my 4 year old Tri Color Spotted Saddle horse Justice, from your gaited horse farm in April 2008. During the last 6 months, I’ve ridden him all over the mountains of southern Calif. We even rode in our first parade together this last Saturday 10–18–08, that was a great experience!. I’ve also used him during our old west re–enactment shows that we do every Saturday April– Oct. It is fantastic how Justice is not afraid of the guns we use during our skits. And he absolutely loves the attention he gets from all the people that come up to him afterwards so they can sit on him or stand next to him just to have their pictures taken with him! In every situation, Justice has behaved/performed like a much older and far more experienced horse. From the time Justice arrived, he’s been everything and even more than you said he would be. No matter where we go, everyone has commented on how they cannot believe Justice is only 4. That’s because for the most part, he is calm and is not what you would think a typical 4 year old horse would be. That is a very good thing for me since I needed a more calm level headed horse in my life. Thank you Glenda and Gerald for giving me the opportunity to become Justice’s new mom! Lyn Gatherer, Big Bear California

Alice and Cody (Colorado) Hi Glenda, I would be happy for you to use this letter in your testimonial page. I love that Cody. He has passed one test after another. He arrived in perfect condition and settled right in eating and drinking like he had lived here all his life. Last week we took him to the farrier to have his shoes pulled, he jumped right into a very high stock trailer rode like a champ by himself, walked right into a strange shed, got his shoes pulled and his hooves are fine just like you said they would be. We met up with a rattlesnake while riding in the pasture and he sidled over a bit but that was it. A big herd of antelope racing across the prairie this morning and a cloud of mosquitoes following us home he takes it all in stride. He loves attention will actually leave food to put his head in the halter. What more could a person ask of a horse. Oh yes, he is fun to ride and has caught on to the way I ride and is getting softer in the bridle all the time, last but not least, he stands like a statue while I get on and off, most important for an eighty year old rider!! I want to thank you again for your hospitality when we came to look at the horses, everyone was very friendly and helpful, also Your help in shipping with Cowboy Express an excellent outfit. Thank you everyone at Flatshod Farms!! Sincerely, Alice

Gail and Target (Illinois) Hi Glenda, As today is the 4th of July, and it’s Target’ birthday, I thought I’d let you know that everything has been going beautifully. He is just awesome. His manners on the ground and in the saddle never change. I’m going slowly because I’m gaining my confidence and he is absolutely ok with that. It’s like he knows what to do and is just waiting for me to catch up. A dear friend of mine came by to see him and she spent the whole time hugging him and kissing him. He never pulled away but when she was ready to leave and I let him go he just walked away and got a drink. When I look at him I just smile. He walks up to the mounting block and stops exactly where he should and does the same thing when I’m ready to get off. I’m still getting use to his gates as he has more action than my other guys. So we’ll just keep getting use to each other. (His name is now Ari, which means brave) Thank you for your expertise with horses and skill at matching people and horses. Take care and I’ll stay in touch, Gail

Gary and CC (Kentucky) Greetings from Louisville, Kentucky! Glenda, wanted to send you a note and let you know both Julie and I are so very grateful for your personnel assistance and candid appraisal of each of your horses as we went through the discovery phase of purchasing our latest family addition from your farm Evils Choice Cut (better known as “CC&rdquo. He is truly everything you said he was! We have taken him out for trail rides on multiple occasions and every time he just amazes both of us. On the trails, we have not encountered a situation that he is not more than willing to do truly an outstanding, smooth gaited trail horse. He is currently sharing a pasture with 4 mares and loving life! We also both enjoy the fact that all we have to do is “yell” for him and he comes a running no need to catch him! When we are in the market for our next ride, you can count on us to look your way first. Again, thanks for everything! Gary

Jeff, Wanda, Trouble and Dealer (Michigan) Glenda, My husband Jeff and I bought Trouble and Dealer (aka now Patches) and we are so happy with them. I took Patches out this past weekend on his first trailride and I’m very very pleased. I enjoyed meeting you and I’m so glad Spring is here so I can get out more with my new buddy! This past weekend I had him tied to the trailer and was putting away a tent when a plastic tarp got caught in the wind and blew close to Patches. I was really suprised when he just stood there and looked at it. He was a little nervous about it but not too bad. I was really suprised he didn’t break his lead rope and take off for the next county. Look forward to hearing from you!

Brenda (Illinois) Glenda, hi there. This is Brenda Millinger..I bought Buddy from you in March (the bl/wh Spotted Saddle on a trade with the Walker). I just wanted to update you on how pleased I am with Buddy. (who I renamed Pilgrim because there were already 3 Buddy’s at our barn!!) We just returned from taking him to Mammoth Cave, KY for a week of trail riding. The trails there were very rocky, hilly, extremely muddy, and long. He did wonderful..approaching each obstacle calmly and picking his way slowly and carefully. Each time we went out I felt more and more confident & safe on him. I am so very, very pleased with him. We rode with others, and we rode alone&he was fine in front or behind. He is gentle, willing, and calm not to mention beautiful&one who I think will only get better with age. Plus he seems to genuinely want to please. ..and he rides well with our other 2 Spotted Saddles. Best of all he stands like a statue to mount / dismount&whether I am at the barn or on a trail. We had been mostly walking trails after I brought him home – while we built our relationship. But now I am starting to gait some. He does gait very well Anyway..I just wanted to thank you for allowing me the trade. It was so nice of you, and I can only hope the one who received Magic is as pleased as I am. We will be at Land Between the Lakes for 5 days over Memorial weekend. Brenda

Cathy (Arizona) Hi Glenda, I just wanted you all to know that I received my new saddle on Monday and after two rides on it now I have to say it’s probably the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden! What a nice saddle it is. Anyway, thanks for making such a great saddle – and BTW the size is perfect. Have a good day! Cathy Craven Palominas, AZ

Toby, Alice, Charmer and Pepper (Alabama) Dear Glenda & Gerald, Charmer and Pepper arrived on Friday in good shape, Thank you for arranging transportation. I’ve ridden both horses on Saturday and today and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. They have been a great pleasure to deal with so far. Thank you for all your help and kindness with helping us find these horses. Sincerely, Alice and Toby

Barbara (Minnesota) Hi Girlfriend, How are you and everyone there at G&G? I thought I would just write and let you know how Scotch and I are doing so far this year. We have been having a blast. I really am still amazed at how comfortable I am with that horse. It’s like we’ve been a teem our entire lives. I suppose we have put on about 400 miles so far. We’re a bit behind as I had knee surgery the end of April to fix a ski injury. It’s all healed now and Scotch and I are back on the trails. We are in the Wanigan day parade this year also. I will send you a pic. Attached is a photo of the two of us. I hope all is well there, and sure do wish we could ride together. Take care. Barb

Susan and Magic (Virginia) Good afternoon, Our baby is growing up. He is looking more elegant each month. I am 5’11″ and you can see how tall he is now. Just thought I would share. He got his sat. night bath on sat. morning to make the show. Then he was still clean for the trail ride on sunday. My sister said, Magic is a show horse. I said, well, Magic is a show off! Mom said, he would go in 10 classes a day if that meant he got 10X the attention. I always tell his well–wishers where he came from! take care and hope all is well in KY, Susan & Magic

Denise (Kentucky) I waited about half a century to get a horse but Dancer was worth the wait! He is the sweetest fella who ever walked the earth and clearly the most handsome as well. I moved him recently to a new stable closer to our home and he loves it there. Sunday we took our new 10–week–old Pharaoh Hound puppy over to meet him and in true Dancer fashion, he approached her slowly to keep her from being scared and then gave her a big smooch. He often follows me around like a faithful puppy without need for a halter and rope––what a great pal he is!

Beth, whisper and poncho (Delaware) I would first like to advise anyone who is considering a new horse to please contact Glenda first. I have been riding for 20+ years and I had a horse that was not a match for me. I had lost a lot of confidence and was about to give up riding. I began looking online at other horses and stumbled onto Glenda’s site. I was amazed at what I read and I liked the looks of several horses on the site. Amazingly enough my husband’s work was sending him to KY and I called Glenda and told her what I was looking for and she told me about several horses that she had that might fit the bill. When we got to her farm it was amazing. We walked by one of the barn doors and I saw this little white face looking out at me. Glenda greeted us and she pointed to the horse with the little white face and asked if he was to small for me. He was only 14.1 and I thought for a minute my friends are going to laugh at me for riding him but there was something about him. I like to say it was love at first sight. I rode Whisper and I didn’t want to get off and I didn’t want to leave him! Glenda had found me my perfect match and what was even funnier was he was not one of the horses that she had mentioned on the phone. He is the love of my life. You know that once in a life time horse that does anything for you and is so full of personality that you just spend most of your time laughing when you are around him. He is also extremely well trained. I don’t have to worry about anything with him. I can just sit back and enjoy the ride. And let me tell you ride we do! We just came back from the Big South Fork where we spent 5 days out of 6 riding and having a ball. This picture was taken at one of our local riding areas Fair Hill. We had just finished a 4 hour ride. The other horse in the picture is my husbands Poncho. Glenda not only created magic once she did it twice. My husband has back problems and riding his arabian did not help. He finally decided it was time to go gaited. We called and emailed Glenda about several horses but none of them seemed just right. We had planned a trip to her place because I though buying a horse from one of her video’s was just crazy. We ended up having to cancel. We were disappointed but a few weeks later when I talked to Glenda she had a horse in mind for us. She sent us the video and pictures and answered all my questions and we decided to purchase Poncho. I am happy to say he has been a dream come true for my husband and I. He does every thing right. He goes where ever my husband points him. You would never know he just turned 3! He also is a very fancy mover and my husband happily has no more back pain from riding! He is also drop dead gorgeous the picture here doesn’t do him justice. Thank you so much Glenda!

Kathleen saddles (Utah) Hi, I just rode my littlest mare with this saddle. I have to tell you… it is my favorite…so light. which is what I need and good quality. It is very pretty on top of that, too! Do you ever give discounts if a person wants to purchase another one Just curious. Thanks. Kathleen I love the hunter green pad, too.

Judge Janice and Mr. Jack (Tennessee) Well, Ms. Glenda, Nice to hear from you – good email. Funny that you would send me this right now, I was just thinking of you a few days ago as I rode Mr. Jack (formerly known as Pretty Boy around your barn). What was I thinking? I was thinking what a nice horse you had for me, and how he is just right for me. Sweet, sweet fellow who would be nearly perfect if only I was a better horsewoman and could spend more time with him. That’s not entirely true because he is nearly perfect now even without great skill and constant attention. I just love that little guy even when he has his “not perfect” moments! You sure have an eye for good horses and you have made a lot of folks very happy. Was looking at your web site last week also just for fun – your buckskin Gunsmoke is a gorgeous horse. That said, I am even more happy with my little black horse a year and a half later than I was the day I bought him!! He’s a keeper for sure and you are a dear. Hoping you and Gerald are doing well. Janice (“Judge Judy”) Snider Morgan

Jeanne and Smoky (Connecticut) He is such a sweet natured horse! He turned 4 yrs old on April 1st. I just love to work around him as he is such a character! As you know, I bought him as my mare is 35 and I am trying to prepare to lose her soon. He is definitely a “partner”, solid on the trails, good around other horses and very confident with me. We are having fun doing “parelli” ground work. I would DEFINTELY COME BACK TO YOU for another horse. I’ve told tons of people about you and I know one of them bought one of your saddles – I LOVE mine. Thank you for all you did and I am sorry to be out of touch. I hope all is well with you and Gerald…..much thanks, Jeanne

Joker and Sue (West Virginia) Glenda That would be fine. Send the e–mail to whomever. Joker is wonderful. Our weather just broke here in the last couple of weeks and I have been riding Joker through the woods that surround our farm. Joker wintered well and went right back to work like he hadn’t been off for three months. I have had additional trouble with my knee and am facing total knee replacement. I know Joker will be a reliable ride during my recovery. Just last week my overenthusiastic sheltie chased a herd of deer back to me in the woods. Joker was fabulous. He just looked at he deer as they jumped over rocks and deadfall all around us. He was interested but unflappable. Thanks again for a job well done with Joker. Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity!!!

Melissa (Florida) Hi Glenda, I hope all is well and that you guys are keeping warm up there is Kentucky. It has been almost 3 months since Boogie has come to live with me in Florida and I want to update you on how he is doing. Boogie has really adjusted well to his new pasture mate, TJ. They are getting along fine now. He has finally given in to the fact that he is longer top dog in the pasture. He actually misses TJ when he is gone for any length of time. Also, I am now fly spraying Boogie just about everyday. He still is not crazy about it but he now knows that this is apart of life living in Florida. He loves going out on our trails. He trail rides alone with no problem as well as meeting up with other horses out on the trails. He loves my kids and my husband probably more than me. He always greets them when they go out to see him in the pasture and puts his head down so my 3 year old can pet him. We are really enjoying Boogie and are so happy to have him be a part of our family. Thanks, Melissa

Patsy (Illinois) Dear Glenda and Gerald, What can I say! Thank–you thank–you thank–you! Although we have not been able to ride J.C. yet, ( we are having the worst winter I can remember) we love him! It has been cold, icy then snowy! J.C. didn’t know what to think of all that white stuff, although it was funny seeing him eat it off the fence rails. He’s not complaining too much, because he squeals and runs to his stall when he sees me coming with his breakfast and dinner which consists of grain, bran, beet pulp, vitamins and soy oil steeped in boiling water along with a more than generous amount of hay to keep his belly full and warm. He’s like a little kid with his oatmeal all over his face! He is so sweet to work with on the ground and working around him in the stall I’ve never felt safer. Really enjoyed meeting all of you and enjoyed riding the trails with you Glenda, Shannon and Richie. Even though I was only interested in J.C. the other horses you guys were riding were great. I don’t know how you do it, but keep it up. There are a lot of horse people out there that would love to have anyone of your horses. Glenda, thank–you for helping me with all my requests and fears I encountered in purchasing my husband and my new friend. Although I think Randy will have a fight on his hands when we are deciding who will be riding J.C. Randy has already got the feeling that J.C. has become my horse. I also love looking at our new saddle and bridle we purchased from you although I’m sure we’ll enjoy it even more when we can finally use it.( by the way can you send me a tape of cinching up the saddle it was not in the box, I’m sure I’ll need it when the time comes) It is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden on and the tacky pads, what can I say, everyone will see us coming down the trail in our red and lime green pads! ( glad you encouraged me to get color instead of the black I was thinking of !) I’m sure once we start using the saddle I’ll have another fight on my hands, so I’m sure another saddle will be in our future.Say hi to Shannon and Richie for me and thank them for all their help when I was down there. I keep looking at your site, which I always enjoy and see a couple of new horses I love, so if we need another I know where to find him. Thank–you again for everything Glenda and Gerald ! Sincerely, Patsy !

Sue (West Virginia) Wanted to update you on Joker’s Riddler, the little roan racking horse. My husband has re–named him Batman and he is fitting in perfectly . We go on a trail ride almost every morning with my three dogs and Batman is great through water, over rocks and deadfall. He notices wildlife but is not spooky or reactive. Many of my friends ( and my husband) thought I was crazy to buy a horse on the internet but they have all had to eat their words. Batman is everything you said he was and more. My farrier was very impressed with his maturity and manners. I have been riding horses for 45 years , trained barrel, pole and pleasure Quarter Horses , train Standardbred race horses and judge open and 4–H shows. My standards are very high and you have met and exceeded them. You made the whole process very easy and your hauler was super. Thank You so much for doing such a great job. No one believes he is only three. The only issue we have had was that he needed his back worked on by the chiropractor. He was carrying his head off to one side and was mildly distressed by going uphill. Since the adjustment he is perfect. Thanks again and if you need a reference you can have people call or e–mail. Thanks Sue Brickell

Betty (Florida) Dear Glenda, I just wanted to say thank you for your patience and helping me to find my dream horse, Lexy aka Lacy. As you know, I live in Dunnellon, Florida next to Ocala which is known as the Horse Capital of the World. When I needed to find a new horse for myself, I started answering ads and visiting folks around my town. I wanted a child safe horse, I had fallen off of one of my young foolish horses and decided that the ground was much too hard and I was much too old for that kind of riding. As I visited these horses advertised as SAFE, BOMB PROOF I was very disappointed. One horse, I was told came out of the girl scout camp, I got on and within minutes of just riding around the barn area, the horse jumped about 3 ft in the air, spun around and off I was in the sand. That took one month of physical therapy to get over. Another child proof horse I visited, the mother of the child would not even go into the pasture and get the horse – she was too afraid. Another lady, had her horse saddled already and waiting for me but was also afraid to get on! I must have looked at 20 horses in all that were not safe as stated or for beginners as I was looking for. Then, I called on an ad and the lady told me her horse had been sold but if I wanted a good trail horse from a honest person, call Glenda Myers in Kentucky. She gave me your website as well. Once I started looking and talking to you, I was sold. You were someone who understood my fears and knew exactly what I was looking for. Our trip to your farm was exactly – no surprises – as you told me it would be. After riding a couple of your lovely, gentle geldings, I saw pretty Lexy in another paddock. It was my husband who asked to ride her. Even though everyone told me not to get a mare, she is sweet and smooth and does what I ask. I am so happy with her!!! Not to mention the saddle which we also purchased. Even Jeff, my husband, was amazed with craftsmanship of the saddle. Any who…I have my young foolish horse for sale now and as soon as I find him a good home, I will be calling you to send me another horse. Thanks again and please tell the guys at your barn hello from Jeff and I. We had so much fun in Kentucky! I check you website all the time. I look forward to talking to you soon, Betty & Jeff Allen, Dunnellon, Florida

Flash and Sampson (Texas) G & G, It has been a pleasure dealing with you in the selection of our new trail horses. You have been patient with me as it took me a while and 2 CDs. Being a big man, needing a stout horse and gaited, well as you know those horses are far and few in between. When we reviewed the last CD my wife kept wanting to go back and look at Flash but I kept telling her I need a horse not her!! I decided to go with Sampson and Flash, yes we are horse crazy people. On the day they showed up in Texas excitement was in the air. They both came off the trailer with no problems and commence to eating grass. The video did not do justice for Sampson, he is a very handsome horse. Both guys behaved as you said and just like the video portrayed. We have since taken them off property for our first true trail ride and could not be more pleased. You have 2 new friends in Houston and if I find the need for another horse you will be the first place I look. Please feel free to share my contact info with anyone who would like to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. If you ever get down this way dinner will be on us. Best regards, Jack & Diane Malphurs Houston, TX.

Talons of an Eagle (Florida) Hi Folks. We have rarely commented on our acquisitions but Mary Ann and I thought we should do so in this particular case. You may recall we recently purchased two more of your horses; a palomino and a gray. The gray was named Talons of an Eagle. We renamed him “Snoopy”! His new name fits him fine. We decided to bring Snoopy to Vermont without even having much time to get his measure. What a great decision! He gaits like a dream and has as good a disposition as any horse we have. Loves people and handles on the ground like a puppy dog. On our trails, he will go anywhere without hesitation, including through strong running brooks, etc. Another nice factor is that he will come right to you in the pasture. That is great for last minute riding decisions. Whoever raised that horse for you should be complimented and encouraged to get you some more just like him! Hope all is well with you all. Bill Becker

saddle (Wisconsin) Glenda, Thank you so much for helping Bill with my birthday surprise – the gorgeous saddle! I never thought I would actually own such a nice saddle. Pistol Petey deserves the best, so I am really happy he got it for us! I have attached a couple of photos for you. He is so beautiful and such a sweetie. He is 16 hands now and 1100 pounds! We are looking forward to coming down to your place in another year or so to look at horses for our daughter Haley. She loves Pete and I think she is out growing her 23 year old mare. Thanks again for being so helpful – Bill enjoyed working with you! Cyndi Shepard

JJ (Michigan) Hi Glenda – WOW!!!! I turned JJ out with our other horses this afternoon and he fit in like he’d always been with them. He has a new best friend which is our white walking horse. Then I swear everyone in the neighborhood had to come see him. I took him out this evening for a ride and joined up with our neighbor and I have to tell you, I have found my forever horse that I’ve been looking for the last 8 years!!! You are the first person I’ve ever dealt with this is truly honest about the horse, they are everything you say and more!!!! JJ stood perfectly still for me to climb on, and then he was just as calm as could be like I’d been riding him my whole life!! He has a lovely soft mouth like I love, he rode beside, in front and in back of my friends big walker, never crabbed or anything. We went for a ride to places I hadn’t been before out here with my neighbor and I am so impressed with the way JJ is so confident. He snorts and has giddy up but what a true gentleman and a total doll. I’m not sharing this boy with anyone (except maybe my husband) he is all mine and I’m going to be very selfish and over–protective of him because it has taken me so long to find him. I truly don’t have words to describe how happy I am and how I feel when I’m riding this horse. I have fallen off the ceiling after having waited for him so long and died and gone to heaven!!!! Words can’t thank you enough for giving me the privilege of owning this horse. Trust me, after training horses for 30 years, this is one in a million and he’s mine!! Thanks for everything and we have an appointment to get him fitted to his harness next week at the harness shop and I am also looking forward to that. This is a true Cinderella story and I have found my prince of a horse! Cindy

Stephanie (Texas) Oh Glenda I totally love this boy!! Got to spend some quality time with him all weekend. My husband rode him too. He has not met Oreo yet, but the trainer I work with is in love with Hershey, so much so, he is trying to get me to show Hershey in June. I am not sure I am a good enough rider for that…. Hershey is really fabulous and especially good about going form his gait to a walk dropping his head. I think he is so sweet too. Stands real nice now that he has his nerves worked out (and me too). I love his silky coat, like a thoroughbred. Beauty!! Saturday was my first time to ride Hershey, my trainer’s barn was loaded w customers and I was nervous. Had a lot of fun w Oreo this weekend too. I am learning to split my time. Oreo is back home, but now Hershey is an hour away, so I am losing weight trying to ride all “my horses” and function normally too.. Having fun though.. My 6 year old girl rode with me on Hershey, loved it.. My 8 year old girl rode Oreo in the arena yesterday all by her self, guided him around pretty good. It was kind of sweet how Oreo would wander back to the arena center to me, he is wonderful, but a dirty boy. He comes up every morning at feeding with bushes in his tail and dirt all over him smelling like fish from playing in the pond. He has worn himself out playing and jumping and is so happy to be home now.. I love them both and thank you so much for all your help finding each one, just what I needed and asked for.I really appreciate you tuning in to me and my horse needs. Stephanie

Laurel (Maine) Glenda This boy is just amazing. We had great trail rides yesterday and today. Yesterday I let my pal Jody ride Kodak, while I gave my other horse a whirl to see how much he had to give. We were out for over an hour, and you would never have known my other horse had been unsound. John Boy’s not all that confident, and he spun a few times at the wind in the trees until we hit on the idea of letting Kodak lead. He seemed to draw confidence from Kodak, even walked through deep water. (And this is a horse that would normally do anything to avoid walking through a puddle.) We gaited the last ¼ mile home, and I think all four of us had big wide smiles when we got back to the barn. Today I took Kodak out with a two–year–old warmblood filly, and he just about wore her out. She’s another horse that needs to trot to keep up with even Kodak’s dog–walk. We spent an hour on some NEW trails. Place seems to go on and on through woods and fields. Maybe the best news is that John Boy is now Kodak’s bodyguard. They put JB in the field with Kodak plus the friendly other grey and couple big geldings that had been inclined to bully Kodak. No more. Kodak never leaves John Boy’s side, and JB pins his ears if the other geldings make a move toward Kodak. If you could use a customer testimonial about your young horses, feel free to use this: I am so pleased with my young Kodak! No one at the barn can believe he’s not even three years old. He’s a pro on the trails, has excellent ground manners, is handsome as the devil and has loads of personality. I know he had a good head to start with, but it’s plain to see he has been extensively trained, and with kindness. This boy is worth every penny I paid. I thank you every time I touch him. Best wishes from my barn to yours! Laurel

Susan (Virginia) Glenda, When you look in Websters under the words “endearing” ” buddy” and “friend” there has to be a photo of Magic. What a special horse. He is settling into his new home and becoming a better friend each day. When I call him he runs to the fence and says, what’s next! I have ridden him once and know I have never ridden one smoother for sure. He was responsive to every cue and all I asked. I know he was ridden by an experienced hand who broke him the right way. Now all we need are miles together and some more sunshine! Sincerely, Susan

Robyn Cook (West Virginia) I should have written much sooner but frankly, Glenda, i kept thinking there was no way Rocket was THIS perfect and i had better just keep riding him until i email you so i could tell you about any problems we were having. Well girl…..THERE ARENT ANY!!! This horse is EXACTLY what you said – he is beyond anything i couldve hoped for. and we have ridden alot since we got home three weeks ago. I have taken him on day rides and overnight rides – both primitive camping with portable hotwire and places where they had stalls. He has ridden in front, behind and off alone. He is affectionate, sweet, calm, doesnt react to other horse’s spooks or snit–fits. He is unreal and no one can believe he is still so young!!! We have to work on standing still while i mount – which is no big deal and once i realized he was just excited and prancy for a few minutes til we rode off, i was fine – i am more calm and confident on him that on my QH i have had for 7 years. He is just what you said and his speed is not intimidating at all bc he can slow right down. The first time we had to cross a bridge (you had said he hadnt done that)…he never even hesitated – he followed the horse in front of him right across. So all the next bridges, i asked him to go first – no problem and all! sometimes he hesitates to load if i am loading by myself – he likes to have someone behind him encouraging him but yesterday i enticed him in with treats and he was ALL over that!!! We rode yesterday at my freinds farm –– tractors, equipment, huge metal drums, junk, a black snake, ditches and wild turkey were everywhere. The other two horses spooked often and Rocket was literally thinking, “Whats the big deal, guys?” And if i can just go on for one more minute…he is the kindest, most loving sweetie ever. I adore him and still can’t believe he was EXACTLY what you said. You clearly are a woman of your word and i have told quite a few friends about your business. I wont get another horse from anywhere else again. It was more than worth the 13 hour drive!! thanks again and i will keep in touch! Robyne Cooke

Gina (Connecticut) Hi Glenda, Just updating you on Daybreak. You have no idea how much I love this horse. We have been spending quite a bit of time together and doing lots of work on the ground. He loves it! He would rather be with me than out in the fields with the other horses. He is so much fun and he loves to learn. Riding him is as much fun. He is a joy to take out every time and no matter what we come across he handles it perfect. Did I tell you how much I love this horse? Last weekend I audited a 2 day clinic with Larry Whitesell. What fun..I cannot wait to take Daybreak the next time he comes and show him off! There was another woman there with a spotted saddle horse and guess what? He was bought from you! As we were both bragging about our horses, we both agreed that there is NO OTHER farm to get a great gaited horse! You sure have a major fan club here in CT. Your ears must of been ringing! Hope all is well and I hope you don’t get tired of my updates! You were right, Daybreak is very special! Gina and Daybreak!

Barbara Murphy (Minnesota) Hi Glenda, Just wanted to write and tell you I have been riding my new saddle quite a bit now and I just love it. It is so comfortable. I would recommend these saddles to anyone. They are lightweight, beautiful and a person could sit on them all day and not get sore. I think they are right up there with Tucker, and the Imus saddles. Only at a better price. Well worth the money. And the matching bridle and breast collar are great too. I get a lot of compliments on my outfit. Scotch says to say hi and he and I are having a blast. I just love that horse. I don’t know if I have told you that lately. Hope everyone there is good and you are enjoying wonderful weather and good health. Say hi to Gerald and Shannon for me. Still wish we lived closer together. Take care girlfriend. Hugs, Barb

Sam and Suzanne (Florida) Hello Glenda and Gerald, Sam and I want to thank you both for our TWO wonderful horses. Dude ( Call Me Dude ) is a magnificent horse – jet black and wow what a beautiful body – he draws a crowd wherever he is – both humans and horses. Dude is such a special horse – kind hearted – level headed – super smart and an easy keeper. And then we bought Chief ( Jet’s Gold Chief ). I don’t know if there has ever been a sweeter horse that has grazed this earth. I love to spend time playing with him. His natural curiosity makes him very brave, confident and down right funny to be around. Personality plus and he is a beautiful Palomino – wow ! Both of them come when called and follow us around without a halter. When we saddle up – they behave accordingly and stand quietly and willingly. We love all of our tack that we purchased from you. The saddles are very comfortable and of such outstanding quality – we appreciate you making all our tack available to us. Dude looks so regal when he’s all decked out in black and Chief being a Palomino turns into quite a fancy looking boy trimmed in black. We moved to a home with 10 acres last October so we could have our guys with us and we enjoy our new lifestyle of country living so much ! It was one year ago today that Dude arrived and changed our lives forever. It continues to be a wonderful journey for both Sam and I. Many of our friends and family have ridden our horses and our guys have never put a foot down wrong. Our 8 yr old grand daughter rides and our toddler grandson feeds them with his tiny hands. Of all the people that have been around our horses – our vet, farrier, friends – everyone compliments their ground manners, their beautiful condition and their gentleness. They are our perfect horses. Sam and I want to thank you both again for our TWO wonderful horses – we are so proud to share our lives with them. Sam & Suzanne Rivers ––– Pensacola, FL

Polly (California) Hi, I wanted to share my success story with veryone….I found my two dream horses at Flat Shod Farms! My relationship with Glenda & Gerald at Flat Shod Farm has been growing and on going now since fall of 2001. I desperately started writing to Glenda with my description of my DREAM HORSE when I came to realize I was not riding the horse I owned because of lack of trust in her. I live in California where the gaited breeds are just getting recognized and more popular as great trail horses. They seemed perfect for what I was looking for, gentle and calm with a fast smooth gait. I looked locally, however I could not find the quality of horse in California for the money I could “afford” to spend, and I did not want to settle for less than my dream horse. My list of preferences was L O N G and DETAILED and through the months of searching and ALL my MANY inquiries, never did Glenda hesitate to respond to my letters. I learned I could ask her “anything”, and she and Gerald would respond honestly and quickly. In August of 2002 they helped me find a very fancy and special gelding, and when he arrived in California he was everything that they had said he would be! I wanted a horse I could just get on and ride out alone on, and he has been a true pleasure. In January of 2003 I once again asked for their help, this time looking for a younger horse as a project. Once again they accessed my needs and riding level and represented the perfect horse for me. To top it off, both horses are the fancy black and white color that I had dreamed of. I had to learn patience during this process, both in finding the right horse, and then allowing him to adjust to the changes in their environment and climate once they arrived, but it was all worth it to find the right horses. I just knew if I gave Glenda and Gerald time to help me that they could find me the right horses, and they DID! I love both my boys! Their customer skills have been second to none! I now consider them dear friends and still keep in touch and ask for their advice, knowing they will discuss my question and reply honestly and quickly. To find someone you can trust to represent you in the quest for your dream horse is a rare find, but I found them out of state over the internet and made long term friends in the process with Glenda & Gerald. I just wanted to share my good fortune with the rest of the horse lovers who are looking for that special DREAM HORSE. If you are looking for honest people representing quality horses, in my opinion and based on my two gentle boys, you have come to the right place! Many miles of smiles, Polly, Mac, & Maverick Miller–Romoland Ca.

Eva (Idaho) My name is Eva, I live in Idaho and I happen to know Gerald and Glenda personally, I have been to their place twice and am planning another trip back this May….I can tell you my experiences with them have all been above board, they try really hard to put the right horse with the right person…they have always been honest about their horses and they will tell you if there are any holes in the animal and which horse would suit you best as long as you are honest with them about what type of riding you do and the use you want the horse for….since I started viewing G&G videos there have been six of their horses shipped out here….there is not one lemon in the bunch, I personally own two of their horses and they are both GREAT!! I was a more difficult customer for them as I use my gaited horses for drill teams as well as trail riding, I needed horses that were athletic, knew how to canter and yet be good on the trail and smooth as I have back issues…I can tell you they screen their horses very carefully for temperament and ground manners, they also use them on a daily basis putting each horse thru a series of riding tests on the trail, across creeks, down the road and every other way they can think of to test a horse for trail riding…Glenda rides alot of them herself just as you see on the tape…I also know Shane one of the guys who works there and he is very good with riding and training…if a horse has bad habits in any way they don’t keep them, and they don’t put them on their videos….they usually have a horse for several weeks to really see how he is before they even put him on the video….they will leave a horse in a stall for several days to see how he acts when not having been ridden and kept up in a stall…they like to be able to answer all your questions about a horse honestly….they really are good folks! Gerald is very knowledgeable and they have been in the horse business for many many years, they are not some fly by night outfit and they don’t use drugs….I do know of folks who have taken a horse back and traded for another….you have to realize that is within reason of course, I could not have done it as I live about $700 away in shipping but when I did have a horse to sell there was no problem getting him sold as they are all really nice….the first horse I bought from them was more or less a training horse for me as I was just learning how to ride gaited horses and I outgrew him quickly…I was able to sell him here easily and then let Gerald and Glenda know I was looking again….the two horses I now have I saw only on the video tape, I did alot of talking with them and asked many many questions…they knew what I wanted and needed and told me which horse on the tape would work for what I do….I bought them both without going back there to check them out first and would do so again in a heartbeat….both horses are well mannered, trailer nicely, and have never offered to buck, bite or show any bad habits…they are good for the horse shoer and I even let my 74 yr old father ride one….I recommend G & G Flatshod Farms highly to anyone who asks, I am not sure I would buy another horse from anyone else….. Eva Harper–Meridian, Idaho

Allison (South Carolina) Hi Glenda, I would be happy to write a testimonial on my experience with buying a horse from you. After many years of owning horses and never feeling completely safe when I was riding them, I wondered if there was any horse that would be suited for me. While searching on the internet for that perfect horse, I came across G&G FlatShod Farm. What impressed me the most were the many testimonials people had written in, praising their experience with buying a horse from Gerald and Glenda. These people seemed really happy. Well I decided to contact them, couldn’t hurt right? The day I emailed Glenda and told her I was interested in a very safe, bombproof horse and laid all my fears about riding out on the table, she phoned me and we talked for probably an hour. She was very compassionate and understanding about my wants and needs. She mailed me video tapes of the horses she thought I would be interested in, and even personally video taped me a “Getting acquainted tape” for the horse I was considering. We tried several horses, which were all truly wonderful horses, but just not the perfect fit for me. Maybe my expectations were too high? After many phone conversations, Glenda told me she had the perfect horse, she just knew in her heart this was a perfect match, this was the one. I was just about to give up, when I decided, “ok, one last try”. She and Gerald met me half way with my new horse, Poco. Well let me tell you, Poco is a godsend. I couldn’t have a more perfect horse, her personality and temperament are the most wonderful. She’s beautiful, and I can finally ride and know I am safe on her. Finally, I can relate to those people in the testimonial’s, I’m happy too! I can’t thank Gerald and Glenda enough for all they have done for me. I could go on forever, but I know Glenda will be receiving many more testimonials, and I want to leave enough space for theirs. For anyone who is skeptical about buying a horse on the internet, I can promise you, you won’t go wrong with G&G FlatShod Farms. Gerald and Glenda are the most honest, caring people you could ever want to meet. They listen to your needs and wants, and will match you up to your perfect horse. I will tell every one looking for a horse about Gerald and Glenda, as I certainly would buy another one from them. I thank you both, from the bottom of my heart, for making a dream come true for me, you certainly went way beyond the call of duty. I couldn’t be happier with my new best buddy, and my new found friends for life. Allison Keaton–Batesburg, SC

Jan (Arizona) “Very, very impressed” is the minimum description I can give for dealing with Glenda. I received my mare “Belle Star” in wonderful condition (after a 2000 mile journey) and eveything about her was even better than I imagined. She was purchased sight unseen, only photos and a video and lots and lots of chats with Glenda. I wanted a nice laid back horse for my boyfriend to ride (beginner) with me and my mare. Glenda did some convincing that this 3 yr. old was everything that I was requiring, I was skeptical due to Belle’s age. But.. lo and behold this mare is true to the description. She is not only perfect on the trails, she’s such a loveable, affectionate and pretty horse. And.. guess who rides her all the time now.. I do. (This alone is a testimonial for Belle: I’m 60 and have back problems due to a broken back years ago.) We get compliments on her wherever we take her. The 3rd time she was out on the trails with us, we rode her in a Rally Ride, Glen and I came in second place (only 2 points behind first place). She is so nice, it’s hard to resist breeding and duplicating her. I’m always encouraging people interested in purchasing a nice horse to call Glenda and Gerald.. in fact I have once again begun talks with Glenda about another horse.. one for the kids. Thanks again Glenda ps: Glenda is so great about guaranteeing your satisfaction too. My girlfriend and I each purchased one of her saddles. Sue will never be without hers, loves it to death, but I just didn’t ’fit’ mine and she was soooo gracious about the return. Thanks ever so much, Jan Wilder Tucson, Az.

Kathy (South Carolina) Glenda and Gerald Myers are a rare breed of people. Infrequently can youfind folks these days that are so honest, helpful, and really do care about others’ happiness. I purchased my new best friend from them just recently. I was a little hesitant about buying a horse sight unseen, but Gerald andGlenda both spoke to me at length and really found the perfect match for me. He is all they told me he would be and more! The video did not do him justice. When he came here he settled right in as if he had lived here all his life. He is so beautiful, well mannered, and just a pleasure to be around. While going through a difficult time in my life, it’s so wonderful to know that I can go out and ride, have a relaxing experince, and leave my troubles behind (even if for a short time). After purchasing my horse, if I ever had any questions, I would call and Glenda or Gerald always picked up the phone and helped me out right away. I can’t thank you guys enough! Never would I hesitate to recommend G&G Flatshod Farms to anyone looking for a good, gaited, honest horse. Kathy Collins– Lexington, SC

Karen (Pennsylvania) I believe I have the sweetest horse on earth……..thanks to Gerald and Glenda! My best friend has been raving about these two people for 3 years now, after buying two horses from them. When I was ready for a new horse,my husband suggested trying Glenda to see if she had what we were looking for,and what was suitable for my riding ablility. Within a matter of 2 days she was back to me with pictures of just what I was looking for,and after picking from 3 horses, she sent me a video of Flashy’s Bad Habit. I was sold in a minute! Next was getting him to me in Pennsylvania! It was going to be several weeks till I could get down to her,so her haulers gave me a price that was cheaper then I could have gone down to Kentucky! And less then a week later,he was on his way! Now as my luck would have it…….Flashy got sick on the way to me!Gerald was on the phone to me keeping me up to date as to what was going on,and thank goodness, his haulers were knowledgeable enough to notice a sick horse in the making, knew just who to call, and had him to an Equine hospital where he spent the night and all was well the next morning. They could have brought him to me as he was………or worse yet…..what would I have done if I were hauling him home and he got sick?I would not have been prepared for any such situation!! I bought Flashy from them with only a video, not having seen him.He is EXACTLY as well behaved and as nice to ride as Glenda stated.I wanted a horse with some go,so I wouldn’t get bored, yet be able to put my husband on him as a new rider.Glenda told me Flashy was all of this……..and believe me he is…..AND MORE!! I have never seen a 3 yr old horse as well trained as this one,and each time I ride him I fall more in love with this guy!! Thank You Gerald and Glenda, for a GREAT horse!!! Karen Greiss–Mt. Wolf Pa.

Elaine (Connecticut) I just had to write to you again about Treasure (“I’m a Treasure”). Last Sunday, my pal Gunilla (she bought her horse from you, too) and I were having a relaxed ride in the woods, when all of a sudden some deer jumped out from the bushes. Our horses are fine with deer, but the sudden movement startled both horses and riders. Lord knows where my mind was at the time, but the next thing I knew, I was hanging off Treasure’s shoulder. Picture my left foot was still in the stirrup, my right foot was on the seat of the saddle. My left hand was on the pommel (I was riding a Tucker endurance saddle) and my right hand had the reins (don’t worry – the reins were loose and not hauling on his mouth). I was hanging there, facing his tail! All this lasted a fraction of a second, and I was preparing to ditch (as well as thinking Treasure would jump sideways or at least the saddle would slip) when I noticed that treasure was standing stock still! He hadn’t moved a muscle, just had himself planted there until I quickly pulled myself back in the saddle. He didn’t move until I gave him a signal to move forward. WHAT A WONDERFUL HORSE! And I think it was that great saddle pad that I bought from you which kept the saddle from slipping while a 115 lb weight hung off of it. I can’t tell you how much I love this horse – I knew he’s affectionate, but never realized that he’d look out for me, too. I’m so glad I bought him from you Regards, Elaine Lambert–North Stonington, Ct.

D’Lee (Indiana) My mom and I currently own two horses that we purchased from Gerald and Glenda. We are very happy with each of “our girls”. We purchased our mares for their disposition, gait and looks. I used to show but now just “seriously trail ride” and these horses have been a dream. These mares were presented to us just the way Gerald and Glenda said they were. The last horse we purchased from them was bought with my new husband in mind as he is a beginner rider. They were very patient with him as he came down and rode the mare. If there is anything either Gerald and Glenda thought would concern me, they always told me up front. I have been down to their place so many times looking at horses or with friends when they are looking for horses. (I love going down to their place in Kentucky). They are probably sick of seeing me! They allowed me to spend a week of my vacation with them. I was able to ride their horses and see how they run their business. I was even able to ride one of their horses in a parade in Hardin that year. I rode that horse in the parade with traffic, buggies and a fire engine in front of the horses! After coming home, I talked my mother into buying that horse! After seeing them in action, I would wholeheartedly recommend them to my friends and have done so. When the weather breaks, will send you all a picture of myself, my mom and my best riding buddy on our horses that we got from Gerald and Glenda.

Carla and JKeith (Maryland) In my youth I loved and rode horses all the time, ending up with a quarter horse gelding that I raised and showed at AQHA shows. He was an alpha horse and I really had to watch myself around him. He was so aggressive – it was very dangerous. I had many near misses with him and my life…so after three years I sold him. This happened 30 years ago and since then I have stayed clear of horses– being so scared that I would tremble at the sight of one…or even the thought – I met a TWH at a friend’s farm and surprisingly became ”head over heels”all over again. I felt so relaxed and safe around this TWH gelding that I of course wanted another chance at horse ownership. He was not for sale, of course – the good ones never are. The owner of the farm had other horses for sale (I should have ran in the other direction). I quickly purchased a young mare that was supposed to be so well trained and great on the trails. Well, she was anything but! Couldn’t even put a saddle on her! Of course the seller could not take her back..he didn’t have time for that. After several months of intense training, I got her to the point where she was good under saddle, but still very spooky out on the trails. This is what I didn’t want to do at my age – train another green horse (especially still being very scared underneath). Eventually I did manage to sell her to a very nice family and I still visit her whenever I can. She still remembers me and my gentle ways. I looked around and found another horse to buy (like a fool – from the same horse trader); this horse, too, was dead–broke, gentle, any one could ride, going to be “the horse”, etc. Well, I soon discovered his dreadful rearing habit! He was very pushy on the ground, too – ran right through me one day. The advise was to beat the horse when he did something wrong…. Well, I just couldn’t do that. All the “bad” advise came pouring in from everywhere. And you know what! So many people are so free with my seat and my body!!! The horse trader would not take him back – all sales are final; he only sells horses, doesn’t buy repurchase them. Sound familiar? After a year of buying and selling many different horses and a whole lot more expense, we were lucky enough to find an acquaintance of G&G Flatshod Farms. Paul Shoffeitt spoke very highly of Glenda and Gerald Myers at the G&G. He stated that the horses were advertised just as they are – no big blown up exaggeration of their training background and temperaments. AND – if we were not satisfied we could return the horses. Thank goodness we found them when we did. We were just about to give up on the whole horse thing completely. We purchased two horses from G&G. They were exactly as advertised – extremely gentle with very calming dispositions – it’s such a pleasure being around them. They are true gentlemen on the ground and in the saddle. We trust them around our families and close friends – both young and small, old and frail. Thank you Glenda and Gerald so much!!!! We will always be indebted to you. Carla & Keith Rocky Ridge, Md

Sandy (Connecticut) Hi Glenda and Gerald, I just wanted to let you guys know how pleased I am with country crusin. I bought him from you last July and couldn’t ask for a better horse. After learning that he was a stud for awhile makes me even more impressed with the quality of horses that you guys sell. I got Country Crusin shipped to Connecticut and after that long ride he was so layed back and calm just as if he lived here all his life, I took him on a big horse council ride a week after him arriving here and he was awesome, we have all sorts of horses and riders in this group and country crusin listened to everything I told him to do without even a fuss, he is the first horse that I have ever owned that I feel so comfortable on and trust so much. We have three horses at our barn that came from your place and everyone of them are such gentlemen and good natured. You guys are true horse people and everyone I know I tell them to look you guys up if they want a horse that is a 10 in everyway. Hats off to true horse people. Thanks again Sandy Connecticut.

Audreay (Indiana) Glenda, Sure I will be happy to send you a testimonial about Winston. First of all he loaded in a stange trailer without hesitation. He traveled 6hrs. with not one problem. Unloaded without a hitch and walked into the barn like he had always lived there. When the weather is bad and he has to stay in I am very comfortable cleaning his stall while he is in it. I have another gelding and the two of them hit it off great right from the start. Since I bought him just as the holidays and bad weather came I have not been able to ride him. I rode him one time at my house and was very much at ease with him. His gaits are wonderful and I just know he is going to make the horse I bought him for and that is grandchildren and visitors that say “Can I ride?” He is gentle and kind and he loves his treats:>) but he is everybit the gentleman when he takes it from your hand. We have had all winter to get aquainted and he has never given me a reason to say”Why in the world did I buy this horse.!” When he is in the pasture and it is time to come in more than likely he will come running:>) It took awhile for this to happen but with my other gelding saying ok here she comes! It didn’t take long…..I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO SPRING AND LOTS OF TRAIL HOURS ON WINSTON:>)….Audrey Nelson Bainbridge, In. P.S. My farrier took his shoes off and trimmed him and I didn’t even know he had been to my house. I asked him how Winston behaved and he said “He was better than “Blue”, The love of my horse life!” He said he thought he was a great horse and would make an excellent horse for me. This is from a farrier that never pulls any punches when you ask him a question….. Audrey Nelson–Indiana

Ken and Melinda (California) Gerald and Glenda, We would like to thank you for such a great horse. Rebel (Gen’s Ebony Masterpiece) is everything that you said. We are very pleased with his ground manners, and his performance out on the trails. Rebel is a true gentleman, we really enjoy spending time with him. The both of you were such a pleasure to deal with, that we highly recommend you to anyone who is looking for a outstanding TWH. they will not be disappointed. Thanks again Ken & Melinda – Crescent City, Ca

Don (Pennsylvania) Hello, My name is Don Wolf, and I am from Lancaster,Pa.Today,my wife and I were out for a drive near the small town of Mt.Wolf and down the road and across the field in front of us went this little Black and white TWH that was just a struttin his stuff for all he was worth. My wife and I just stopped and watched him work!!The lady riding him come back across the field and we just had to stop her and compliment her on her horse. We asked her where she got him and she told us the name of your farm and that you were on the internet. Tonight I thought to look you up assuming you were a breeder here in Pa.Imagine my surprise when I read that your farm is located in Ky and you don’t breed, but buy and sell. My wife and I were in the TWH breeding buisness(small time)for 27 yrs before we retired 3 yrs ago! I am sorry to say, in all those years I may have only bred 4 or 5 with the quality I saw in that little walker you sold that woman!! I just felt the need to write and compliment you on your business and the quality of the horses you sell after seeing her horse and others you have on your site. I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to build a business and a reputation, let alone have to search out those horses.I know they don’t come easy! I wish there were a thousand more horse people like you,its good for the horse buisness.

Charlie and Peggy (Connecticut) I would like to thank Glenda and Shane for their honesty and good work with Ky’s Lady Belle. When my husband and I flew down to Kentucky we were wondering if we were going on a wild goose chase. Boy, were we wonderfully surprised. Belle was everything they said she was on the internet and via e–mails. All my friends thought I was crazy for getting a 3 year old but she has turned out to be the dream I hoped for. After only one week of being here we loaded her on the trailor and went on a group ride. She didn’t mind any of the other horses and acted like a perfect angel. Belle and our other horse Apollo have bonded and are the best “buds” plus bookends in the looks department. I would recommend a part draft horse to anyone looking for a joy to be around. I can’t say I’ve met anyone more honest in our home state and probably don’t ever intend to look here again. Also the guys who delivered her took very good care of all the horses and she didn’t even seem tired after such a long trip. Thanks again Charlie and Peggy Smith

Corky and Dee (Illinois) glenda and gerald thank you so much for miss silver, she has become the princess of our barn. everyone falls in love with her, when they see her. miss silver has become my wife and my best friend, always in your pocket wanting to be loved, and believe me she is, there is no amount of money would ever make us part with her. in fact, my trainer, bill reed, in murfeesboro ,tenn.wants to take her back and train her for lite shod western pleasure showing. he usally can judge a winner when he sees one. dee and i enjoyed coming down to your farm, only wish we could have spent more time there. and as far as you guys, well, there could never be more honest horse people . everything you said to us was true about silver.and you all are the nicest people we have ever met in this horse business. it was our pleasure to meet you all. we want to extend a heart felt thanks to you all and a open welcome to come visit with us if you ever get up this way. thanks again dr. corky and dee phemister Mount Vernon Illinois

Marti (Connecticut) Hi Glenda, I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with this incredible horse, Buck’s Masterpiece. And we owe it all to you! When I first started looking for a horse, a local horse owner told me about your farm and she highly recommended it. After exploring your website and exchanging emails with you, I was optimistic that you could help me find the right horse. Since “gaited” horses are new to me, I needed someone I could trust to guide me in the right direction. You have certainly fulfilled that trust! Of course, you had several horses to choose from, but based on our discussions, you sent me a video of a few you thought I might be interested in. Since we live so many miles away from you, the video was invaluable. After choosing my favorite (Buck), we arranged a visit, and you agreed to accept a deposit to hold Buck until we could get there. You explained that if after riding Buck I was not completely happy with him, I could transfer the depos! it to another horse. You were so very accommodating! Well, of course when I saw Buck and rode him, I knew he was the horse for me. Little did I know! Now that he has adjusted to his new home and owners, he is the horse of our dreams! He is like a puppy dog, following us everywhere we go and always wanting us to pet him. When we walk out the door, he whinnies to us as if to say, “Please come talk to me.” Even when we turn him out to graze, he comes when we call him. He is so good in every way. He is so easy to catch. He just puts his head into the halter. When it’s time to “pick” his feet, he just picks them up one at at time when I ask him to. As advertised, you have trained him to handle just about anything on the trails. He loves to explore and, after a period of adjustment, he barely reacts to the “boogers.” You had said how smart he is. Well, he has already learned my command “get over.” It only took two times, and now I don’t even have ! to touch him. I just say it! The cutest thing Buck does…….wh en I go out to give him his feed, I ask him if he is hungry, and he nods his head up and down! He is just too funny! Thank you and Gerald for all of your patience and guidance in helping me through the decision process and the adjustment phase. Everything you do is top notch, including your prompt email responses, and even the hauler you chose to bring Buck all the way to Florida, Clay Rawls. I could go on forever, but you don’t have enough space on your website! If I ever decide to buy another horse, you can bet I will buy from G&G Flatshod Farms! Regards, Betty Beck, Deland Florida Dear Glenda, I am writing to give you many heartfelt thanks for making my dreams come true! My Spotted Saddle Horse, “Sportscaster” is everything that you said that he would be, and more! He follows me around like a puppy dog, just waiting for some attention, or something to eat! After a couple of days rest from the 1100–mile trip to Connecticut, I saddled him up with no problem whatsoever and he just aims to please! I really like his gentle way even though he is young and a bit mischevious! He likes to pick up my rake or broom, and even my chair and run way with it; then stands there waiting for me to come get it, and then runs away again! I went for a wonderful trail ride yesterday with my friend at Rockin O, Marian, and he didn’t spook at all when we came up on a deer in the woods. I sit really tall on this big boy, though, and have to duck under branches that everyone else makes it under! Everyone says that “Sportscaster” and I just look right together; we make a great team, and I look forward to many rewarding years with this beautiful boy. Thanks you again so much for all of your assistance in finding the right horse for me. I will certainly be getting back in touch with you when the time comes to add another horse to our family. I’m now on a mission to make a cowboy out of my husband! Then we could ride off together into the sunset! Sincerely, Marti East Hartland, CT.

Jim (Kentucky) Hi Glenda&just wanted to give you an update on how Hot Shot and Magic did on their maiden voyage to Brown County State Park. In one word&Great. We really took them through their paces& they experienced mud, deer, wild turkey, wagons, horses with big ears pulling those wagons, bikes, little rug rats on those bikes etc. But, the most important testimonial was when we passed this coiled up snake on the side of the trail that decided to show off his “rattle” and let us know we were on his turf. The guys looked at him and simply kept their wits about them and kept walking on. I know you said they were “bomb proof”&but how did you train them to be “snake proof”?? Gerald would say I was crazy but, I wouldn’t take twice what we paid. Thanks&we’ll be sending our friends to you. Jim Higdon Owensboro Ky

Ellen (Illinois) Speedy is still being a very good boy and is a wonderful trail horse––––crosses bridges, streams, up and down steep hills without hesitation, faces barking dogs calmly–––he’s a good example for all the resident horses, one of whom objects so much to going out that she seems to spend as much time going sideways and backwards as she does forward. Speedy looks at her in amaze––seems to think Wind Dancer is really stupid. The only thing that has bothered him is wild turkeys but when I turned him so he could see what was making the funny noise, he immediately settled down. You done good when you picked him for me! E. Nelson–Illinois

Pam (Tennessee) Glenda, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your honesty in helping me with picking out a horse. As I told you I’m 50 yr. old, and wasn’t raised on horses, and had very little experience on horses, I needed a truthful person to sell me a horse that I could ride. Most horse people don’t understand what we’re fearful of, and you do, so I’m so happy I found your sister again and she put me in contact with you. Shaker is a WONDERFUL horse, he’s not a deadhead but is so sweet, follows me around, always calm, doesn’t even run to the barn to eat, has done great on trails, crosses water, bridges, loads well, and only just kind of steps back and looks if he sees something real strange. After my mom died I made my mind up to buy a horse and enjoy it even though I was older. If you have a reader that is afraid to ride because of age and not much experience, and loves horses as long as I, they should give you a call. I know without a doubt that you can find one to suit them perfectly, you told me which ones I would like and the ones I wouldn’t even if I didn’t buy from you. Your heart is in the right place for not wanting anyone to get hurt, when you trust the person you buy from, you’ll trust your horse and won’t be afraid. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to enjoy something I’ve always wanted to do, Shaker and I bonded immediately and it was love at first sight, and I sing to him like you suggested and he loves it, he’s just a big pet. Any older person like I that would like to ride, you can if you really want to, just let Glenda help match you with a horse. Always remember there is alot of people that just wants to sell, and doesn’t take into consideration that your afraid of everything that experienced riders never think about. My thanks to you forever, I’ll keep in touch. Pam Butler Buena Vista, TN.

Colleen (Indiana) Glenda, I want you to know how happy I am with my big boy “Big John”. I love this guy. After being lied to by a previous person and being sold a horse that rears. I was soooo leary that I almost gave up hope of finding someone who would be honest and find a horse that I could trust on the trails. Since I am older (43) and just recently owned my first horse I thought I would just give up riding. Even though I adore horses and trail riding. Then I found you! Your honesty and willingness to earn my trust was overwhelming. I know I was not the easiest person to deal with. My endless questions and skepisism would have drove even the most patient person to the edge. But you never made feel like I was a pain and you found me a horse that I will have forever. I have been riding him now for 7 months and I am in love with him he is my best bud. Hes everything you said he would be. He is such a good boy. I never have to catch him he always comes easily. He has great manners, does not spook at nonsence and when he does spook it is a turn and plant . No bolting!. I have took him into the middle of picnics with kids and commotion galore and he is totally ok with it. We double ride on him all the time and bare balck is ok with him to. We street ride and trailer to parks to ride he dont care either way. But the most important thing of all is……..I feel safe on him. What I saw when I came to ride him is what I got when I brought him home. No surprises. I have your web page clicked to “faviorites” and I regulaly look at the new guys you have for sale. ANYONE that I know that is looking for a horse I tell about you. Many people say that they dont want to travel that far and my response to that is I would gladly travel three times as far as I did to get a great, sound, safe horse that I intend to ride for years. I drove an hour and bought a horse that rears, throws fits, was a pasture bully, and destroyed my fences. And they told me he was the “perfect” horse for me. Then I drove 5 hours to your place and bought the best horse in the world. He IS the best horse in the world ya know. Other people that have bought horses from you say their horse is ithe best in the world but they are lying because MY BIG JOHN IS THE BEST HORSE IN THE WORLD!!!!! Glenda I assure you when I go looking for another horse I will make the trip to your neck of the woods and maybe just maybe I’ll try one of those gaited horses you sell. With enormous and sincere graditude, Colleen from Michigna City, In

Diana (West Virginia) Glenda, Just wanted you to know we have ridden war dancer and he is a dream. He took my husband around just fine, and Me and my girlfriend rode him though our woods and he did not fret over a thing. He also lunges well on a line, goes bareback and can be ridden in a leather hackmore. He is a genteman and very sweet. I keep waiting to wake up and have some kind of reality check, bu so far he has been all that I had hoped for and more. Thanks for doing what you do, and finding great horses great homes! Sincerely, Diana and War Dancer West Virginia

Greg and Kristi (Georgia) Glenda, Just wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying Dancie! What a joy. We live in the Atlanta area looked at about a dozen horses in the Southeast. Each of the dozen had their issues (bad feet, bad legs, poor ground manners, vaccinations not kept up, etc.) And I was not sure about a 6 hour drive to Kentucky. But I’m so glad I did! Your horses are everything they are advertised! It’s comforting to know that you are buying a very sound horse. Dancie is sweet as they come. His ground manners are great. What a pleasure to groom. I finally found a horse that could keep up with my wife’s Appaloosa on the trails! On top of all his wonderful characteristics, he is very handsome (tri–color) and a gate to die for! We could not have asked for a better addition to our family. I’ll let others in the Atlanta area know if they are looking for the best trail horses – take a trip to Kentucky to see G&G Farms. By the way, the delivery service was quick and excellent! Thanks so much, Greg and Kristi Lindsay Atlanta, GA

Ethna (Washington) I contacted Glenda after several unsatisfactory attempts to pursue purchasing a horse in my area and on the web. As I am the mother of a 10–month–old baby, I was looking for a nice, family trail/pleasure horse that I could just pull out of the pasture and ride with my 13–year–old when time permitted. I saw a certain mare on Agdirect and visited G&G Flatshod Farm’s weblink. Although Bell’s A Ringin was a little more expensive than I thought I could afford, after reading the synopsis on Bell and viewing Glenda’s other horses, I figured I would send her an email to see, if by chance, she had a horse that would fit my needs. Glenda responded to my email that same day and told me she thought Bell would be the perfect partner for me and offered to work with me on the financial end if I wanted to pursue my interest in her. She even offered to help me arrange economical shipping from KY to VT if I decided I was able to purchase her. Well, I couldn’t believe the speed and positive response to my email. I had figured that beautiful mare was out of my reach, and Glenda had just put her within my grasp. I talked to my husband and we decided, after all the other disappointments, that we had better pursue this opportunity. Being a cautious person by nature, the next day I emailed Glenda several times with a multitude of questions about Bell and her suitability. Each email was answered very quickly and patiently. Through her emails, Glenda never made me feel she was impatient with my questions or gave me the impression I was ignorant for asking them. She even provided me with a video so I could see Bell’s movement and her demeanor under saddle. My dream of owning this mare became a reality. After many emails, Glenda called me and we were able to visit on the phone. She was very personable and took time to make sure I was comfortable with my decision and that all my questions had been answered to my satisfaction. All I had to do was send Glenda the purchase price and shipping fee. She did all the rest. She arranged the shipping and provided me with the shipper’s information and approximate time of Bell’s arrival. Bell arrived at my place on Sunday, September 21st. and after a period of settling in and getting acquainted with my other 2 geldings, we went on our first trail ride on September 27th. We scared up some partridge and Bell was fine. We ran into some nasty german shepards. Bell just looked at them as if to say, “Come near me and I’ll smear you into the road” and they backed off. Bell was everything Glenda promised she would be. I couldn’t be happier. I am now enjoying riding with both my older daughter and husband. I don’t have to worry about how many days go by without riding. Bell is the same no matter how much time passes without being ridden. Thanks, Glenda, for providing me with a new trail buddy! Thanks, Ethna Farnham

Wendy Glenda, Just wanted to take a moment to tell you how pleased I am with my new girl. It has been very stormy here so I haven’t gotten to ride her much but yesterday once I found the right buttons to push we had a blast. My husband is not a horse person (he is a mule man) but he came and watched us ride in my arena and he really liked her. I have been so bummed out about horses since EPM and strangles last year and Sparkles sure put a smile on my face again. Thank you!!! Also, thank you for the halter and bit. When someone cares enough to send a bit with a horse you know they care about the horses they sell. Once again, thank you. Wendy

Marcia (Illinois) Glenda & Gerald Thank you so very much for Jo–Jo. He is wonderful. My daughter, who is 6, rode him and he was great. Perfect horse for her. I’m so happy I had the chance to come down with Lisa, to meet and ride with you guys. You are wonderful. Again thank you. Marcia Wulff Newark, IN.

Ann (Kansas) Glenda and Gerald, Patches and I have been having a great time on the trails. We rode down our street, went under the I 70 overpass with cars and huge trucks zooming over us. Then over I 70 on an overpass. He was not the least bit nervous. I was ( I hate heights). We ride a couple of times a week at the county lake. It’s the perfect place to ride to expose a horse to just about everything. We have encountered all the natural creatures, turkey, deer, quail, squirrels, and woodchucks. There’s also water, mud, and plenty of hill climbing. We ride beside railroad tracks for about 1/4 of a mile and the passing trains don’t scare him. The spookiest part of the ride for most of the horses is riding through the main entrance area past kids on playground equipment, geese everywhere, flags flying, and lots of traffic. He was great with it all . Only hesitated one day when we encountered a really mad goose that was not about to move out of our way. All my riding buddies just love him. They are all jealous of my glide ride too. I found the perfect shirt that says ” Spotted Saddle Horse. If I wanted to bounce I would have bought a trampoline”. He is everything you said he would be and more. Thanks for all your help. Had a wonderful ride over Memorial Day. We spent four days in Coon Rapids, Iowa. Patches was perfect. Not too many times you can use perfect and horse in same sentence. Patches was on a tie line . The first night he got the lead wrapped around his front leg and somehow the snap hooked the rope. He had his head snubbed down to his cannon just above the fetlock. I looked out of the trailer early the first morning and thought he was just eating the hay he had dropped from the hay bag . He was calm and cool about the whole thing. He laid down to rest each day and it never happened again. We rode for about 14 hours over the four day period. Going across the river was challenging. Because of the rains they’ve had it had a very swift current. I get very dizzy if I look down at the water. He seemed to have the same problem the first couple of times we crossed. We kind of drifted downstream some. By the end of the ride we could go straight across just fine. Rode through pastures with cows and calves in it and he seemed very interested in them. He wanted to walk right up to them. Acted like he wanted to chase them when they moved away. Everyone said I had the makings of a cow horse. I found the downfall of having a shorter horse……I was the designated gate opener because I was the only one in our group that could get back on her horse unassisted. Take care. Ann Davis Kansas

Caitlain (Indiana)Hi, this is Caitlin, I just wanted to let you know how wonderful PJ has been over the two years I have showed him. Down below is how many placings we have placed.  1 st = 4 2 nd = 6 3 rd = 7 5 th = 1 6 th = 1 One ribbon says madness which I don’t know why. PJ has been a great buddy, we play tag in the pasture, take long trail rides, just lay in the stall (when clean), he LOVES to eat!!!! That little pork chop!! Fair starts this Wednesday and ends Sunday. I think we’ll do well; I’ll e–mail and let you know how we do. PJ says hi, and to say hello to his buddies if their still their!!! Talk to you soon, Caitlin Finger

Jody (Pennsylvania) Glenda and Gerald– Just an update: We received the saddle and Ed is loving it– sooo much more comfortable than his previous one. Also, we rode in the July 4th parade on Mon. in a nearby town. I rode my cousins horse and Ed rode Cheyenne (alias “Shy Guy “). There was a horse ahead of us that bucked, reared and backed into the crowd 4 times before the rider finally got off and walked it. Luckily, no one was hurt. There were large, pressing crowds,a low flying helicopter, balloons, loud tractors, motorcycles and cars, raliroad tracks to cross, scary manhole covers – and through it all,our SSH remained calm and alert and Ed was never out of control with him. To add to our pleasure, Ed heard several onlookers commenting on how pretty he was and children telling their parents ” I want that horse,Mommy”. It can be nerve racking to be in a parade as you don’t ever know what will happen but this is his 3rd parade and he has been good for all of them– I guess we know he is pretty level–headed. Hope all is well with you all. Take care and try to stay cool. Happy Trails – Jody

Liz (Indiana) Hey Glenda and Gerald! I haven’t spoken with you for quite some time, but “I’m Pushing for the Money” AKA “Chester” here at the Carter farm is still doing wonderful. I can’t remember if I ever thanked you properly – but you sold us one great horse and I have loved him since I first saw him. Thank you so much for all your help, and more so for you honesty. It is folks like yourself that make buying a horse enjoyable and if we ever need another one, I sure hope you are still in the business!! Thanks again! Jim and Drew Carter Ambrose, Georgia Hello Glenda, My girlfriend Rosemary and I were out at your place during Thanksgiving weekend and I purchased Sampson the big 16+ hand bay. We had traveled from PA. I just wanted to let you know that he is absolutely wonderful. He is such a pleasure to ride and loves attention. We have been doing tons of riding and he is just so much fun. I know that before I purchased him you and I were back and forth about his temperment when riding alone. He is so much fun when we are out riding alone and very safe. I am always going onto your WEB sight to look at all your beautiful horses you have for sale. Just wanted to say Hello and let you know that Sampson is doing great. Thanks again! Liz Rubino

Nancy (Florida) My name is Nanci and I’m 43 years old and reside in Florida. I want to start by thanking Glenda and Gerald for bringing Cody and I together. I needed an “anyone could ride” horse not only because of my back, but because I became a scared rider over the years. I didn’t trust any of our horses. My husband and I have owned many horses over 24 years, but after I lost my trustworthy black mare in 2002 due to severe colic, I just could never find a horse that I not only bonded to, but trusted. I’ve visited this website several times over the past 2 years and always thought the horses were just beautiful and the thought of riding a gaited horse would be wonderful. This time I decided I was going to take the plunge! I chose 2 horses from all the listings and Glenda overnighted me a video of each. Like everyone else I was worried about buying a horse without actually seeing it in person, but I watched the videos and was totally impressed. We fell in love with Cody right away. But I was still cautious and scared that he seemed great on tape with Glenda on him, but would he be calm enough for me? Well, after an hour on the phone with Glenda telling her all my fears, I made the decision to take a chance and boy oh boy did he turn out to be everything I had hoped and dreamed about. It all started with the quiet calm way he unloaded from the trailer when I greeted him with a snicker doodle (horse snack). After that, we became buddies right away. He did just as Glenda said he would. He was a perfect gentlemen in every aspect on the ground. He even walked right up to me in the pasture, which our other horses do not. He was so personable right off trying to give me little kisses and all. I just fell in love without ever getting on him. Fifty percent of my trust in him was in the week and a half he and I just spent time together on the ground without even riding. Then came the big moment we, Cody and I decided to trailer off with about 8 other horses to a reserve a few miles away. For the first time in my life, I wasn’t scared or fearful of what would happen. I was excited. He did everything and I mean everything I asked him to do. He loaded beautifully, rode quietly on the trailer with 3 other strange horses, he off loaded like a dream, then we got to our riding site. Everyone is scurrying around tacking up their horses and what was my Cody baby doing? He stood perfect to the trailer and watched every move I made instead of listening to the other horses carry on. I tacked him up slowly, as if he cared. I used my step up to mount him and off we went. I was ready for any quirk out of him especially since some of the other horses spooked at gates, blowing trees and deer. My cody? He was the best. He never once spooked, he went through large areas of water without hesitation, we walked over large logs and we came back after a 2 hour ride with my smile just as big as it could be. His worse quirk? He stopped to poop just like Glenda said he would. I thought to myself “can this be real, am I this lucky?” All of my friends and my husband were all so happy for me and envious. At least 2 people wanted to ride Cody just to try him and I was “uh uh no way”. NO ONE RIDES or TOUCHES this horse but me. My husbands exact words were “money well spent” because I’m just not the fearless rider I used to be many years ago. When we got back to the barn with all 8 other horses, they threw Cody and I a whipped cream party…..do you think Cody budged or got upset. Not once! He was drinking water out of my water bottle and licking the whipped cream rolling off of his long forelock. I am literally so in love with this horse that words cannot express just how much or my gratitude to Glenda. I guess I waited this long to purchase a horse from Glenda because Cody and I were mean’t to be! Now I’m at work just counting the minutes until I can leave to go spend time with him every night. THANK YOU G&G FLATSHOD FARMS for making my dream come true. Did I mention that he is black and white and just as beautiful as they come? That was just a bonus :–D Yours Truly, Nanci Leinhauser Cocoa, Florida June 2005

Lisa (Illinois) This is long overdue. I bought two horses from Glenda and Gerald back in January of this year and just this month (June) bought a third. When looking to buy a horse you run into all kinds of people. There are so many that will say just about anything to sell you their horse, but not Glenda and Gerald. They are the most honest, and helpful horse dealers I have ever come across and they are real nice folks to boot. They want to know what you are looking for in a horse and that is what they want to sell you, not just any old horse to make a profit. They want their customers to be happy and it shows! I could not be happier with the three boys I have brought back from Kentucky this year. They are absolutely everything they were presented to be and more. First came Bojangles, my 3 year old and then JR. They are both the best behaved, friendliest, go anywhere you ask, do anything you want horses I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. The training that these horses received at G & G makes them the best. They go through mud, water, traffic, anything without second guessing me. They couldn’t be better behaved on the ground. Both are easy to catch, bathe, clip, and oh my gosh just point them at the trailer, unclip them, and in they go! No kidding, they are the best trained horses I know. My most recent purchase was Chickamunga, a gentle giant. He is everything he was advertised to be. He is the sweetest, easiest going horse ever. He’s great on trails, trailers like a dream and goes anywhere, even alone. I give full credit to Glenda and Gerald for the wonderful training they put on their horses. They won’t sell you a horse you can’t ride. Originally I told Glenda that I would really like a black & white (pretty) horse. She gave me some great advice, she said, “Lisa, you can’t ride color”. Well, of course, she is absolutely right. She wasn’t going to let me buy a horse based on it’s “pretty” factor, she wanted to be certain that I would be safe on the horse. This really drives home what I mean about their honesty. They could probably have sold me the first black and white horse I saw, but they worked with me to find one that was within my riding ability and I really appreciate that. I couldn’t be happier with my boys. I have since sent to friends down who also purchased horses and are just as happy as me. Keep up the good work Glenda & Gerald. Lisa Martin Illinois

Sharon (Kentucky) I just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying Trouble’s Scatman. After a riding accident in 2001 I thought I would never ride again. I did however start riding again a couple of years ago, but not with much confidence. My first outing on Trouble was a pleasant one. ( I think I may have rode with a lot more confidence) Your honesty about your horses is an asset that everyone should appreciate. Once again Thank You for putting me on a horse that is a delight to ride….  Sharon Holt Kevil, Ky.

Sue (Utah) Dear Glenda…I just wanted to tell you that I will NOT be taking up any offers of returning DC for another horse. LOL. He is everything that I wanted. We went this weekend up to scout Elk. This required us to rise at the ungodly hour of 3:30 am. load the horse and drive 5 hours. Once we got there it was time to saddle up the boys and head out. DC didnt miss a beat, he was a little mountain goat on all the rocks we had to pass over. Didnt budge at all when Mike let out a bugle on his elk horn. When we needed to tie them up he stood like a trooper. He seemed to enjoy his day wandering through the sage brush up and down hills, looking at elk and antelope. We even saw a few coyotes. I rode him close to 6 hours that first day. I was comfortable, relaxed and honestly enjoyed the riding for the first time in a very long time. He spent the night tied to the trailer with our other horse. Except for a few pawing moments I didnt even hear him much all during the night. I kept a blanket on him during the night as it was in the mid 30’s that ngiht BRRRRRRRRRRRR. We went back up to the top of the mountain the next day and rode aroung for about 3 hours. I am so happy with him and honestly feel that he and I will grow to be good companions. Thank you for all your help in helping me choose who would be best suited to me and all your assistants in getting him out here to Utah. Thanks Sue

Ron and Donna (Illinois) Glenda, Cosmo is growing and learning more and more each day. The more we learn about riding the more fun they become. We are working on our balance as well as theirs. Our trainer has been working on doing different cues with them both on the ground and in the saddle. Donna has just been riding a couple of weeks and has already noticed how great the saddles are. It is hard to understand how they work so well, but they do. I am so glad we spent the extra money to buy one for each of us. Thanks for finding these two guys; they have been a blessing to us. By the time next years riding season is here all four of us will be ready to ride. I cannot wait to see how much Cosmo will grow and change in that time. Donna and Rain are becoming fast friends and I am sure that those two will be ready to go. We hope to hear from you and how everything is going with you in Kentucky. Ron and Donna Smith Illinois

Sandi (Illinois) Glenda, just thought you might want to know how we are getting along. Boone is fantastic!! He is just what I wanted and needed. We have been riding for the past week now and have not found anything that I don’t like. He has been on trails at Shawnee and in Salamonie. I have had him out around the house and Sam rode him bareback with just the halter and lead rope. He did great! He wasn’t quite sure what Sam was doing at first but quickly caught on. We tried to get him to mosey up to the tailgate of the truck but he didn’t like that at all but got close enough so Sam could hop on. The swelling in his face has gone down and no more drainage from him nose. He still has a slight cough but only slight. He has such a good temperament! Thank you so much. I’ll write you soon. Sandi and Sam Bowling, Illinois

Dot (Tennessee) Hello from Tennessee, Well just touching base to say Master is doing great. We went to the Bucksnort Trail ride this weekend and had a blast. Of course I had to get him out in the arena and show him off.lol. He had an audience within minutes. His mane is down to his shoulders and his tail drags the ground. I’m keeping him up in a stall through show season to keep him show ready. We’ve done alot of traveling, won alot of ribbons and even some money especially had alot of fun. We also had a speed rack with a racking standardbred that claimed to be “ALL THAT”. Well if he’s all that then Master is “Plus Some” cause we blew his doors. Made a few minor adjustments to his bit and hoof angle and that boy can really get it now. He has that competitive ASB spirit for sure. See alot of pretty horses on your website….Hope all is well. Dot

Glenn (California) Hey Glenda: Fargo is doing awesome. I gave him to my daughter Greta who is 9. It was not the plan but the match was just too perfect. That horse will do anything for that kid. We could not be any more pleased. When I do get my own horse, I will be coming to you for it, without any doubt whatsoever. Thank you Glenn Evans California

Jo (North Carolina) HI Glenda, all is well with Jag – doing much better and we are loving him on the trail – he leads everyone on every trail ride and he is finally starting to take ONE treat….only one mind you – and no more..– he will spit them out after he eats the first one………funny boy

Joanne (North Carolina) HI Glenda. we rode all weekend –– 2 hours on Sat and 2.5 hours on Sun – I LOVE LOVE LOVE the saddle and the breastcollar!!! – amazing –sooo comfortable and no break in time – it was wonderful – fits Jag perfectly I LOVE LOVE LOVE it Joanne

Deanna (Illinois) Hi Glenda, He is great. He is fun to ride and has lots of comical antics. Him and my palomino gelding actually play. They act as if they were 2. Thank you for Hero. Hi is a great addition to our family. We even had his street sign made and put up already. Thank you for your time. We just love Hero! Have a good evening. Deanna Take care. Deanna

Lynne (Florida) Just to give you a little low down on the process I went through in looking for a new horse; I had to put my Tennessee Walker down last August because he had foundered in Texas in 2005. We made our usual trip to Tennessee in October of that year for our annual trail ride, sans my Tennessee Walker because he was recovering from his founder. I had been offered, by a friend of mine, her horse to ride while up in Tennessee, but when mounting that horse one morning, he spun before I even had a chance to get my right leg over the saddle, thus throwing me to the ground where I broke my Pelvis in three places. We sold our house in Texas in March of 2006 and moved all of our animals to Florida. My Tennessee Walker made the trip just fine and was recovering from his founder, but in July of last year, he was diagnosed with EPM. I have been told that EPM is usually contracted by animals that have been compromised and by my horse having foundered, he certainly was compromised. (This was all very foreign to me because we have owned horses for over 30 years and this was the first horse I ever had that foundered, and the first that had EPM…and I pray to God the last). What this is all leading up to is I completely lost my confidence after my accident, but since trail riding is the love of my life, I really didn’t want to give into my fears. So I decided to buy a well trained horse (well try to buy a well trained horse that would help me with my problem). In the past, I always bought young horses, broke and trained them myself. I’m getting too old to go through that now. I had looked at many horses on the internet for the past six months. I came across G&G Flatshod Farms and was impressed by their philosophy and the way they said they did business on their Website. I had E–mailed Glenda with some questions and she answered my questions and suggested that she send me a DVD of the horses she had for sale. I thanked her and thought that was a wonderful idea (since we had decided that we would make the trip up there if she had anything that I thought we might be interested in). At the time, Glenda had 17 horses on the DVD and all of them looked very nice and well cared for. I decided that with such a nice selection, it would certainly be worth our while to make the trip. I’m very glad that we did. The afternoon we got there, Glenda was gracious enough to rescue us, as our truck broke down about 5 miles from their ranch, she even drove us back and forth to our hotel (that’s another story). She showed us through their barns that afternoon and we saddled a couple of horses up that day and I rode them on their track and one on their trails. The next morning we tried a few other horses out in the same manner. I had told Glenda my problem with losing my confidence, she was very understanding, and I believe she really makes an effort to match the rider with the right horse. We bought a five year old registered racking horse named Legend. Glenda told me he is a Kentucky Mountain horse, but was never registered in that registry, so she registered him a racking horse. So far, Legend has been a perfect gentleman, well gaited and is not a “stick in the mud”. He likes to go, but he listens to me, has sense and I don’t want to brag too much because I’m afraid of jinxing it, but he is a dream come true. Now having said all of that, I can understand why maybe your husband might be afraid of buying a horse sight unseen. Since we made the trip up there, we didn’t have that problem. But, the reason why I looked outside of Florida for a horse is because of the horror stories I have heard about people bringing many of these “sale” horses into Florida from Tennessee. Many of them are horses with problems and they are just unloading them here. The other reason is because I can’t sell anything. Once I buy a horse, it stays with me for life, so I had to take my time and try to do my homework. The only thing I can say is we all take a chance when buying a horse, but the fact that G&G have a 14 day return policy and they provide and pay for a vet check were other reasons I felt a little more comfortable doing business with them. I had never heard of anyone doing that, but it’s been years since I bought a horse. I can honestly tell you I don’t know Glenda and Gerald personally, my husband and I were there at their ranch March 14th and left for home on the 16th. Our experience with them was a very good one and my horse is working out well for me. I apologize for making this a book, but I tend to do this when the subject of horses come up.

Kelly and Dean (Indiana) Hi Glenda, Finally made it home. Dean got lost again while I was trying to sleep. Silver travelled like a dream, munching on hay the whole time––then stood relatively patiently (after 8hrs in a trailer) while I put a light sheet on him. Turned him into the indoor arena to roll & stretch. He just wandered around, looking for food. Don’t think the arena will even phase him when we ride him for the first time in it. After his bath with shampoo & conditioner, he really cleaned up pretty. His tail looked much prettier & had a beautiful shine. He is going to be a looker when he’s shed out, tacked up & on the trail. Dean can’t wait. He’s so excited, just like a little kid––which means I get to go trail riding more often!!! Thanks again for your patience & hospitality. We’ll keep in touch. Kelly

Rita (Oklahoma) Hi , Glenda Reese is doing wonderfully – has already been giving young children lessons on.

Gina (Connecticut) Glenda, He’s here! He is awesome!!! He is such a beautiful horse!!! Joe was very nice! Wow, what a trip!!! I cannot wait to play with him tomorrow!! If it was not 10 degrees out, I would sleep with him! I want to THANK YOU for everything, it was so great to buy a horse from you and I will again! You can gladly use me for a referral and you will be getting many updates as Daybreak and I get to know each other! I am sending you a gift ,just to let you know how much I appreciated everything you have done! I will not get any sleep tonite..I keep looking out my window to see Daybreak..I cannot believe that he is here and MINE!!! Gina and Daybreak!

Lynn (New Jersey) This is the horse of my dreams. I think he’s even BETTER than Ringer (who I THOUGHT was the perfect horse) because he is so incrediblely smooth. A million thank yous and I’ll NEVER bother you about another horse for me again in my life, and THAT’S a promise! He’s so handsome too, and what a love bug, he is everything yu said he’d be and more AND I’m not afraid of him. He really is push button and a PERFECT confidence builder for me and a rocking chair to boot.

Shelia (North Carolina) Hi Glenda and Gerald, I just wanted to send you some current photos of Jack and I doin’ our thing! I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying this boy. He has been a great exercise machine too and has helped me lose 30 pounds over the last year! He is much cheaper and more fun than the gym. We have found our niche in competitive trail riding. He has ribbons from the last two rides taking a 3rd and 5th place. His next ride is this Sunday.

Nancy (Florida) HEY WE JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW WE GOT WHISPER AND HES DOIN REAL WELL WE RODE HIM YESTERDAY AND MY GRANDMOTHER WANTED ME TO TELL U SHE LOVES HIM AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Marge (Kentucky) Hi Glenda, Thought you’d like to see how Rocky’s doing, he’s been great. Took this photo today, monday, 08/21, a beautiful cool morning, and a great ride. I still have my old appaloosa, Colt, and ride him occasionally, as a matter of fact, just took photos of him the other day too, he has adapted to Rocky finally, I guess he’s realized that he can share the attention. I still enjoy looking at your site. Marge Para and Rocky

Sue (Utah) Dear Glenda…I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with D.C. He is everything and more then you told me he would be. If someone had told me 3 months ago that I would end up buying a 3 year old gelding, I would have told them they were crazy. D.C. has done every task that I have thrown at him with confidence and calmness. We went riding recently into the mountain close to home. We came across a group of hunter in their camp. They commented on how calm both our boys were and asked if they were brothers. D.C. and Mikes horse are the same height and once D.C. bulks up a wee bit they will really be hard to tell apart. Mike calls D.C. the “delinquent child” as he likes helping Mike with chores around the field and barn. Following him like a puppy dog and sticking his nose into everything. Personally I call him the “delightful child”. I honestly feel more comfortable and confident on this young horse then I did 75% of the time on my old horse. Thank you for your HONESTY,INTEGRITY and being so helpful from start to finish in purchasing D.C. and finding such a good transporter at such a resonable price to get him to Utah. I will recommend you folks to anyone looking for a horse. Thank you again Sue McLaughlin…Farmington, Utah

Linda (Tennessee) Hi Glenda, Took Looker to Florida for 1 1/2 weeks. Just got back Sunday night. I had a chance to open him up on a dirt road and WOW!!!! He racked at warp speed and the more I kissed to him, the faster he went – and the smoother he got. I was really impressed. I know I had a BIG grin on my face the whole time. He trailers better than any horse I have owned as far as eating, drinking water and peeing in the trailer. He does it all. I just held a bucket up to his window, let him stick his head out and he drinks. Doesn’t seem to stress out about anything at all. At first I was worried that you were right about him not having a motor big enough for me – and he is very relaxed around a group of horses, but when I opened him up, we were by ourselves and he was a lot more pumped up. Just the way I like it. Ha. Hope he keeps it up. My address is: Linda Jamestown, TN

Judy (Tennessee) Thought I would give you an update on my Pretty Boy: The girls at the barn are calling him Jack (for a Halloween Jack–O–Lantern). The farrier started that one… The end of October, I moved him to the barn where we kept our Saddlebred. He was a little spooky for the fist couple of weeks; maybe too much moving around to suit him. But he has settled in very nicely now. They have the cleanest, brightest stalls (each has it’s own window) of any barn I have been in and he likes to look out his window when he’s in. He is turned out almost all day every day except Sunday in a HUGE field and has become best friends with a couple of the othe geldings. This is a horse who much prefers to be in the field except for dinner time. He is so much happier at this barn and it shows. He is a sweet horse and we are going to have fun together. He’s the perfect size for me. Went trail riding up to the Sand Cave at Cumberland Gap State Park in Virginia all day Sunday with my friends. It was a fun ride and a beautiful day. One of my friend’s horse laid down in the middle of the trail for a little nap all of a sudden and we all got a big laugh out of that. Then one of the mares decided she didn’t like my horse, so she kicked me right in the knee as we were just standing there minding our own business. My whole knee is swelled up and black/blue – it hurts like you know what but I don’t think anyting is broke. Unlike the nasty mares, Pretty Boy was a model trail horse and he did not kick others or lay down on me , ha. ha. He did a great job. He likes to lead , but we also rode in the middle of the group, behind another gelding after the kicking incidient, part of the day too. On the way back we rode up ahead by ourselves for awhile and the thought of bears crossed my mind more than once. Fortunately all we encountered were some chipmunks and an owl. This set of friends bragged on him also. Wish we didn’t live so far apart. Bet we could have a good time riding together too.

Judy (Connecticut) Hi, Glenda and Gerald I just opened my copy of the latest NSSHA program and saw your center page ad. It’s beautiful, congratulations Just a quick note Luke is such an awesome horse. Thanks you for bringing him into my life. We have had such great times together. We’ve actually won a couple blue ribbons at this Hunter Paces we’ve attended this past year. I can’t wait for the fall season paces to start. Judy Belliveau–Ct.

Andrea (Arizona) Hey Glenda, I don’t know if you remember me. I have Jordans Soloman. Well today we went on a trail ride and you would not believe the wonderfull comments I got, Also as to where did I find him. Anyway, I posted your website on the trailriders website so they can look. Maybe they can find something as wonderfull as I did. I still love him to pieces. He will always be with me. I have never had a horse who I have bonded with like him. Andrea Goetz

Tracey (Texas) Hi Glenda and Gerald, I just wanted you to know how good Rembrandt (Wicked Masterpiece) is doing and to tell you what a fantastic horse he is! He has no vices whatsoever and does whatever is asked of him under saddle. I’ve taken him trail riding at a beach (he insisted on leading, even though –to my knowledge– he’d never seen a beach and ocean waves before) as well as nice trails and woods. If we get to a bridge or a shallow pool and others are unsure if their horse will cross, Rembrandt will lead the way. Still loving the tack… I can sure recommend it highly! Now that the weather’s finally turning cooler (here in coastal Texas, September is just as hot as July and August) we’re planning more rides. In fact, we’re hoping to go Thursday. Well, y’all take care. I just wanted to say hi and tell you again how very thrilled I am with Rembrandt. We seem to be very well–matched for each other. It is a joy to own this fine animal. Tracey B. Beaumont, TX

Michelle (Vermont) Hi Glenda, how are you? Phillip and I are great. I just took him on our first big ride with about 27 riders on Sunday. He was jigging at first but was fine after a bit and went places the other horses were afraid to go. there were gun shots due to target practice we were parking at a sportsman’s club. He was wonderful. Anna and Gallow were with us. He only looked twice at 3 huge rocks in our path and I asked him to go forward and he just did it that help out with the horse behind whom was really not interested in moving anywhere but away from those mean rocks. Phillip trailerd and saddled great too. I told Anna that I was so proud of myself and how far I had come that I wanted to cry. Phillip and I are still learning things together but I’m having so much fun with him. you should see his main it looks nice. Thank you again. hope you have had time to enjoy your horses on the trail this year. Michelle and Phillip

Laura (Connecticut) Have I told you lately how much I love Chocoholic? He is so awesome! They are using him for a few lessons at the barn where I board him, and everyone is head over heels in love with him! Thank you again for helping us get together!

Mari, Jonathan (Florida) Glenda, I know you probably thought we fell off the planet, and have been wondering how Radar and Cheyenne are doing. I have been meaning to sit down and write you for a while. But, I knew it would be a long email and I just now found some time. Cheyenne did real well on the transport. He came off the trailer feeling good and never had any problems. I could tell that the gentlemen that ran the transport did everything they could to make the horses comfortable, but Radar didn’t handle the trip very well. He was feeling pretty bad when the transport finally arrived late that night. He was disoriented and couldn’t even walk straight when we first took him off the trailer. He had some cuts on his head from where he hit it on the trailer, and he scraped up the inside of one leg with his other hoof. But, he would eat and drink, so I put some medicine in the wounds and knew that he would be ok. He came down with a cold (they called it shipping fever) about two days later. But, the vet came out and said that it was just in his sinuses and his chest was clear. So, we put him on antibiotics and let him rest. I was a little worried, because he had lost a little more weight through all of this and was looking pretty thin. But, after about two weeks he was all cleared up and the wounds were healed. They put him out in the big pasture and within a week he was putting on weight and looking so much better. It has been another 4–5 weeks by now and Radar is looking really good. He is filling out well and looking beautiful. I’ve attached a couple pictures from a couple weeks ago. He has filled out even more since these pictures were taken. The pictures are not great because I took them with my cell phone, but I thought you might like to see them anyway. My Mom is in one or two of them. She likes going out with us to take care of the horses. Right after they got down here, I got hurt (fractured 2 ribs) and couldn’t ride. So, I had just been going out and taking care of them several times a week, but not riding. We had really spoiled Radar while he was sick, so he was a little full of himself once he started feeling better. But, I got stern with him a few times and he straightened right up. I started working them out in the round pen a couple weeks ago and last week the doctor finally gave me the ok to ride again. I rode Radar for the first time (since he got down here) this past Saturday! I thought he might have a bit of an attitude since he had not been ridden in over 2 months, but he was an angel. He was calm and attentive. Cheyenne is more energetic, but Johnathon handles him well and they get along great. Oh….I also found that Cheyenne knows how to park! He does it on command! I didn’t know that and just stumbled onto it when I was working with him. Radar doesn’t seem to know it, but I might try to teach him down the road……as tall as he is and as short as I am, it would be nice. The vet did a full exam on both horses after they got here (joints, nerve testing, etc.). I wanted to let you know that she was very impressed with both of them….and wanted to take Cheyenne home with her! She told me that I had two terrific horses, with good conformation, great legs and good dispositions. I already knew they were great, but it was nice to hear anyway. So, the boys are settling in to their new place well. We are really enjoying spending time with them. Thank you for putting us together! I hope you and Gerald are doing well. Drop me a line to let me know how you are if you have a chance. Take care. Wishing you all the best, The Chalkers: Mari, Johnathon, Radar & Cheyenne

Barb (Wisconsin) Hi Glenda and Gerald, Thank you so much for your hospitality while I was down at your farm to find the horse of my dreams. Glenda you told me Scotch was the horse for me, but me being a stubborn Norwegian had to come and look at him anyway, all the way from Wisconsin. Well, let me just tell you and everyone else it sure was worth the trip. I had the most wonderful time riding and driving my new horse. I also learned so much in such a short time, I would never have thought it possible. Scotch arrived at my home Sunday morning very early and by noon we were out riding. He was just as smooth and wonderful as he was at your farm. We also went riding the next day and again just as good if not better. Ivan say’s he thinks he is wonderful also. Girlfriend, next time I need a horse you will be my first call and now I know I don’t have to come and see him first I think I will anyway so we can go riding again. Miss you and Gerald and the boys already. Take care and thank you for the finest horse there is. All those other people only think they have the best. Scotch and I know better. Bye for now. Barb in Wisconsin.

Janice Hi, Glenda, Due to the weather and out of town company the past 2 weekends, I didn’t get to take my horse out country riding until today. We went out riding on little gravel country roads with an occassional passing car, a few barking dogs, a carload of Mexicans doing something illegal (we did not want to know what), farm machinery in roadside fields, shiny things in the ditches, etc. and a lovely breeze riffling the trees along the river. Part of the time we followed, part of the time we led. It was a good test to see how he would do. He did an excellent job and the folks we rode with agreed you could not have a nicer horse than he was today. I like this horse. He is a sweet and sensible fellow with a lovely disposition. His looks aren’t too shabby either. I will be happy to keep him. He is being well cared for & the guys who own the barn where I am keeping him like him A LOT, too. I think we will do quite well together. He is a great horse for me.

Patty (Pennsylvania) Hi Glenda , I just adore him . He is soooo loving and gentle with all of us esp. the kids !! And believe it or not they are actually showing intrest in horses !!! Or should I say just Star !! Everyone that comes to visit us , they all want Star ! He is just so loving of all the kids that come and visit . I still have him seperated from the others , don’t know if I’m ready to put him together ?? But here is my testimony !!! I friend of mine gave me ggflatshodfarms web site , I was looking to buy a new horse for myself . I was very nervous buying a horse ” on line ” . But when I opened Glenda’s page and out popped this picture of this stunning black and white tenn. walker , I instantly fell in love with him . I emailed Glenda and spoke a number of times over the phone . I knew just by speaking with her , she was a honest person and just did want to sell me a horse . I was going to fly to Kentucky and see him and take him out for ride to be sure HE WAS THE ONE. But after calling the airlines ect and getting a price I thought by the time I do all of that , I could pay for 1/2 the horse !! I was extrememly scared to just buy a horse over the internet ( My husband told me I was nuts !!) But sometimes you just know in side that its meant to be I took a chance that I felt was right . After speaking to Glenda I felt at ease and went for it . I BOUGHT HIM . Without riding him or even seeing him in person . Just a photo , and video I saw. I was sooo anxious waiting his arrival . My dogs starting barking outside I knew he was finally here , as I looked way up my driveway I could see the big trailer heading down !!! My heart started racing I was very nervous to see what was coming out of that trailer . I was the first stop there were 6 other horses aboard besides mine . When he opened the door there he was the most beatiful horse I have ever seen exactly as he was described but only more beatiful . He walked out like a gentleman. He was spottless , clean, his tail was wrapped up so it would also stay clean . Then he brought all the horses out to move them around a bit, they all had a single stall in the trailer . Every horse that walked out of that trailer came from Glenda’s farm everyone was just as beatiful as the next one . I wanted to keep a few others that were in there !!!!!!! The colors were so unique and the patterns on these horses were just so stunning , all healthy , happy , and extrememly clean and well cared for they were just georgeous ! He feed them and watered them before he left . He truly loved them also !! Then after about 3 days of letting Star sit in the pasture and get acustomed to his new home , I saddled him up and away I went he was a perfect gentleman ! He rode alone , thru water , over ditches and trees , by cars, quads, bikes ect. Not a care in the world , walked by everything as if he has done all his life . And also I cant forget about his gait extremely smooth and fast ” Just as I was promised !!! Everything Glenda told me about him was 100% truth . I have a glass jar in my closet I’M SAVING UP FOR ANOTHER ONE !!!! Would def. by on line again from her !! This horse is such a dream horse I couldn’t ask for anything more I live in Bloomsburg , PA and would recommend buying a horse from her anytime , I know I will . If anyone lives close by and would like to come take a look or need referrences for GG Flat Shod , please call Glenda she can give you my number and you are more than welcomed to come and see for yourself what kind of horses that come from her Don’t be as nervous as I was , cause I will be doing it again You can trust her words cause she does know horses . And Glenda thank you again for the very best horse I have ever owned SONS PAINTED STAR ! Here is his picture as you can see just how handsome he really is !!! Thanks again for the great horse , I truly love him . Patty Bohenek Bloomsburg, PA 17815

Tomi (Maryland) Hi Glenda, I just wanted to let you know that “Magnum” Samson’s Masterpiece, has completed his Mounted Search and Rescue Training and as of Sunday is now a Full Service MSAR horse. He has made great strides over the past 6 months since I purchased him from you. This past Sunday Magnum was deployed for the first time to the lower DELMARVA Peninsula for a search of an 84 year old person who had Alzheimer’s. Magnum and I logged in 17.1 miles of saddle time during his first deployment. For just turning 6 years old, he performed at level that could match (or exceed) any horse at twice his age. I have recommend several folks looking for a gaited horse to check out the G&G Flatshod Farm website and would tell anyone wanting a nice gaited trail horse to call you first. PS: The missing subject was found alive but severally dehydrated after going 72 hours without food or water. Regards, Tomi’ State of Maryland Commander Trot Search & Rescue Mounted Team

Rhonda, Bob and Mackenzie (Kentucky) Glenda and Gerald and Potential Trail Horse Buyers: I set out Summer 2006 to find a trail horse. My family purchased property in an Equestrian Paradise, Majestic Oaks in Simpsonville, KY and It was suggested by several horse friends that I take the time and go see G&G in Western Kentucky. I am so glad that I listened to that advice. I took my eleven year old daughter with me. She is the horse expert. as she has been taking riding lessons for years and had her own National Champion Saddlebred. I must admit that I have forced myself during the years to horseback ride, as I live in the State of Kentucky and that is what we are supposed to do. Also, it is my daughters passion. I had never enjoyed even one second of that experience until I visited G&G. I tested many a horse on the trail. I will be the first to admit that I am probably the most picky person there is, besides my husband, when it comes to buying anything. However, I found the equine love of my life, VERSACE. This horse has taken a sport I loathed, and has turned it into the passion of my life. From the beginning, Versace, took care of me, and he is only 3 years old. Smart. Gentle. Cooperative. Beautiful, and the ride is so smooth I couldn’t believe it. What a difference the horse makes!!! I would have never known if I had not taken the opportunity and time to trail ride different horses. They were all completely different. Unfortunately, there are not many places that allow you the opportunity to test drive. It only makes sense to do so. My daughter traded in her show horse for a gentle trail riding horse, and she couldn’t be happier either. When my husband saw how happy we were, he had to buy a trail horse from Glenda and Gerald too. What a great sport to bring the entire family together. We can not thank Glenda and Gerald enough. They are professionals. They are honest. They are caring. They are patient. But, most of all, they know what horses to buy to make this sport fun and SAFER. That is the whole key to this. Much different than riding inside of an arena. It’s just you and the horse. After we purchased our horses, we had one million questions. We called and called, and they patiently answered each and every question. Not a typical response in today’s society. I would suggest that if you need a trail horse, that you take the time, as my family did, and go visit G&G. You can’t bond with or test drive a horse over the phone. Thank you Gerald and Glenda. Best, The Durrett Family

Villa (Tennessee) Hi Glenda: I just wanted to write and let you know how much I LOVE the gelding I purchased from you. He is just what I needed. I now have three small geldings, two coming three year olds and a coming four year old, and they are just precious together. The age of a horse isn’t a big factor as long as the mind is right. Can you believe I went through fourteen horses to find these three. Folks who don’t appreciate what you do don’t have a clue how hard it is to find the “right” horse especially after you have been traumatized by an accident and like you said “getting older too.” It certainly does make a difference. There was a time I would get on anything that had four legs, a mane and a tail. The ground was much more soft then. I enjoyed our visit with you. Beautiful country! I wish I had felt better. Villa in Murfreesboro, Tn.

Aleda (Alabama) Hi. Glenda & Gerald I would like to tell you that I just love Santana. He is a very sweet boy and my grandbabys love him to. The six year old rides him by his self and that means a lot to me. I would like to tell you that you are right he is a good riding horse and he don’t hurt my back at all. I can’t thank you enough for him. I still want to get me a saddle as soon as I can. I hope that me and Robin can come and bring the horses and camp and ride with ya’ll soon. THANK YOU ALEDA in Alabama

Tiffany (Tennessee) Hey Glenda Just wanted to give you an update on Winston. He is such a great horse!!! I can’t tell you how much I enjoy him. He has the best personality of any horse I have ever seen. He really demads attention when he is in the barn. He also knows he is the king of the barn. He is the only horse that gets free run of the farm and barn. Some days he gets to eat out in the hay field loose which is not fenced and come and go out of the barn as he pleases. I’m sure the other horses are a little jealous. I ride him about three days a week. He is so smooth and does great over all, but he can test you sometimes. I am so glad I made the trip up to Kentucky to get him he was well worth the drive. He has a home forever with us. I will keep you updated and send pics. Tiffany in Tn.

Kayla (Indiana) Hi Glenda, It’s Kayla Shoulders,my mom bought Davis’ Grace. I’m really enjoying her, I have been working her on the ground some. I think that has helped us in our GREAT partnership. We have some Amish friends who took us on some really rough riding;Grace did AWESOME, while I just tried to stay on. Glenda, I want to thank you for matching Grace and I up. I love her to death. I will keep her until the day God takes her away. I hope your doing great, I am. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Your Friend,Kayla Shoulders in Indiana P. S. I love your horses!

Jerry and Debbie (Georgia) We just wanted to say thanks for working so diligently with us to find the right horse for both of us. We found you to be honest and truthful about everything. The horses are just like you said they would be. They are willing to plesase and are extremely good gaited. They sure are fun to ride, not to mention the fact that they are beautiful horses to boot! We recommend G and G Farms to anyone who is looking for a gentle yet good gaited pleasure horse. Jerry and Debbie Hensley Ellijay, Ga.

DeniseI (Washington) I know other folks on here think they have the best or sweetest horse from G&G Flatshod Farms, but I KNOW I do. I got PT Cruiser, a racking horse on the 8th of November. He came out of the transporter’s trailer as if he just rode a few miles down the road. I live in Washington state, so from Kentucky that was a little more than a few miles. I had not met him in person prior to his arrival, just saw him on DVD. He’s everything Glenda told me he was and more. With the wild weather we’ve been having, and then an ear infection, I didn’t get a chance to ride him until today. I rode him on very steep trails, muddy and slippery. He was careful and I really think a child would have been safe on his back. Something happened on the trail today that really put him to the test. It was unexpected, and with any of a lesser horse, could have been a true disaster. Out here in the Pacific Northwest we have these horrible vines with thorns in them. They are single, long and strong. I was going on the trail and Cruiser stopped. I had no idea why, there was a bank on the left side and a drop off on the right side. I gave him pressure to go forward, and he went backwards instead. Then I figured something was wrong. I looked down, and the vine was through his front legs and wrapped around his right front leg. I bent precariously to break the vine with my hands and Cruiser just stood there and took it all in stride. He actually stood there and decided to munch on some Oregon Grape while I figured out how to get him untangled. As soon as I broke it up, he went forward and just walked the rest of it out from around him. Now this horse does have get up and go for sure. He’s not lazy at all, and he likes to move out. He’s a blast to ride, water, ducks spooking and flying right up next to him, hunters with guns, people hiking, including a group of boyscouts…nothing even phased him. On the ground he is the coolest guy, he’s like a dog, he greets anyone who goes out in the pasture and will follow them around. Thank you so much Glenda and Gerald, PT Cruiser is wonderful and I couldn’t have asked for anything better than Cruiser for what type of horse I was looking for! Denise Kahlon in Washington state

Abby (Tennessee) Hi Glenda, Hope you are doing well. Greg and Spark are getting along fabulously! Of course we’re all enjoying him. Greg’s biggest regret now is the seasonal timing….he can’t ride as often as he’d like since the time change…but he has ridden every weekend. Spark is settling in fine. Hi Glenda & Gerald, I finally got a few minutes to sit and update you all on Joe. He is doing great. Took about a week to settle in. We had to establish a new pecking order first. My big QH has been the alpha and he still is not ready to give up his status position. My morgan/arab on the other hand has always been at the bottom of the pecking order and he still is. Joe has taken the position of middle man on the totem pole. At meal times however, he waits until everyone is in their stalls before he goes in his. In the beginning it was quite alot of action during feeding time. My Arab is a trouble starter but when the trouble starts he stands in the background and acts innocent. It is amazing how each horse has their own distinct personality. Joe is calm and just goes along with the routine as long as noone bothers him. When my Arab provocked him he took care of him and now everything seems to be in order, thank goodness. I would send pictures but as I said before we have a 2 acre pond on our property and Joe found a nice muddy spot to roll. I tried to groom it out but it was no use. We have had some chilly days and as soon as it warms up, he is getting a bath. Hope everything is good up there. I will take some pictures one day and figure out how to send them. I still visit your website to see if there are any new additions. Take care, Becky in Florida
